There are very few meals as good as the chicken fried chicken covered in gravy with mashed potatoes, dumplins, fried okra and biscuits with a glass of sweet tea to wash it down from Cracker Barrell.

Well, you never ate mama's cookin. If mama opened up a place next to cracker bbl, they'd have to close in two weeks. I do not understand the affinity to CB. Worst excuse for country cooking I ever experienced. No fresh veggies and what they have is cooked to death. I ate there last week with some visiting friends----horrible.
quoted for truth...
If you ever get a chance, try Lambert's in Sikeston, Missouri. THAT is the way country restaurants should be...
What about that after dinner treat known as an apple fritter?

I cannot argue that. I just don't get to eat there as often as I can CB.
I personally cannot understand how there isn't one in Pigeon Forge.

I do concur. Yard-bird and dumplins is towards the top of my list. However, pork tenderloin, green beans, mashed potatoes, a roll the size of Texas and a glass of sweet tea = I'm as happy as "Buddy the Elf" at Christmas.Hey you only live once.....might as well enjoy it while you can....I LOVE me some chicken n' dumplins
He's still just 18, 19 tops, once he starts eating southern food on a regular basis he will put the weight on!! Also about 500 grams of whey protein a day!!!
