Bray Will Play

Potentially, Bray has the ability to speed up the game. He has better vision and a quicker release and throws a more catchable ball. If your going to go all in, this would be the game to do it. If we could somehow win this game, Dooley has instant credibility in the x's and o's and recruits will take notice regardless of our record, especially since we are a young team. I don't see Bray starting however. I think Simms will run the first series and will remain in if he continues to have success. If the sacks start coming, then Bray will show up. IMO

ehh, i don't think he will play... I think cdd is just making alabama spend a little extra time in the film room to watch bray...

A) if bray was going to play, why would he tell everyone and give alabama time to prepare for a different qb?

B) this doesn't make sense to me, so if simms is doing well, you're going to pull him for bray? Then why not just start bray? <----- this is why i don't think he's going to play... If this happens, the staff is retarded because the logic doesn't make sense... Unless...

C) cdd is anticipating being down early in the game and therefore, time to get the young guys work....

this.

I think if Simms is playing well, CDD will not take him out just to let Bray get some reps. Unless, like someone on here said, they have some special plays called for Bray or something like that just to throw Bama off.

In a perfect world we do it but its not, I stand by the fact we throw Bray to the wolves he'll end up a bust. Frankly I don't think he is the savior everyone is claiming he is, I think Worley is going to be a better option once he get's on campus.

Then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You might want to call Worley and tell him to ride the pine the rest of the year so he doesnt get hurt though. I have no idea if Bray is the savior or not, but im pretty sure Simms isnt.

Bray or Simms, just keep the offense on the field. Our defense is gonna need rest.

Sure its been said but I didn't read the 5 pages prior. I like Bray but this makes me nervous. Afraid it will end badly.

So you think playing a guy who was an EE and been through half a season is going to make him a bust. That is some turd logic.

That is not an argument. Their depth is more talented than most of our starters. Its all relative

If you know that then why did you make such a rediculous comparison?

I think Bray might start. I told a friend of mine that last week. Dooley knows he needs to make some drastic change somewhere. This might be it. Sometimes, ya gotta roll the dice. Yeah, there are a lot of what ifs. And, one of them is...what if Bray is the answer? I don't know, but I've always thought more of what I've seen in Bray than Simms.

If you don't understand the fact quarterbacks need at least a season on the bench before being thrown into the starter role then there is no hope.

I think it is too early to play him, but that is my opinion as I am no coach. Dareus is a rather large man that I would not want chasing me around...

I remember at the first of the season CDD saying that the QB's do different things well, and saying that TN "will need both of them this year"

Im sure Dooley has a plan on when Bray comes in. Like on the 3rd series or something. Scripting this allows Simms to save face and feel like he's not being yanked. Coaches do this frequently letting the media know ahead of the game so not to appear to be dissatisfied with the starter. This allows the coaches to gauge who is having more success and allows for adjustments. I don't see Bray lighting Alabama up but nobody does.

One it is not a fact and two he is not going to be the starter.

We will see what the kid has got. Dooley has been around him for a while now and I guess he thinks he can handle it.

I think we'll see a lot of Bray from the shot gun, rest of season.
Takes a lot of pressure off the boys up front.
His series against GA was by design, not mop up.
I think coaches saw what they were looking for.

I feel like this is trending towards Simms getting more sneaks and draws and rolling out...becoming more of a running QB...while Bray comes in and becomes the pure passer.

Only problem is Simms isn't that duel-threat quarterback, he got some speed but not enough to be a true running QB.

You didn't know that there have been a total of 0 great QBs that have played during his freshman or rookie season?

Yeah...I am thinking more of Crompton-ish. Not a really running QB...but rolling out for throws and picking up 3-5 yards on a sneak...pitch plays, etc.

Dareus is far from 100% healthwise. He won't be doing much chasing. He's a beast and will play but I'm not sure how effective he'll be...especially if we run opposite him like we stole something. He tweaked his bad ankle again during the Rebel Black Bear game. Did anyone else hear the announcers say they put 3 rolls of tape on his ankle (the trainers did; not the announcers)? Just wondered. That's alot of freakin' tape!

That's going to be rough on Bray.
Bama has the best D TN will see all year.
I believe I would wait until November to play him.

Or it could be rough on Bama. Bray gets rid of the ball quickly and is accurate. Their secondary seems to be their Achilles Heel this year. If the young OL can give him 2.5 seconds, it could be interesting.
