Bray Vs. Manning freshman stats

I'm glad Bray is doing well and hope he breaks every UT record. Then I hope Worley comes in and breaks all Bray's records..and so on. However, Bray is no Manning. He has a very strong arm, but has no idea how to even read what defense is in front of him (based on a comment made by Chaney). I just hope that when he learns to read the defense it doesn't clutter his head and mess his game up. :loco:

Don't you think learning to read defenses (properly) would cause there to be less clutter and make things clearer and easier for him?

Looks like TB has/will have him on everything but the most important: completion percentage.

PM 61.8
TB 55.3

Some of that could be placed on the hands of the receivers... (though they seem to catch more of Bray's passes than Simms).

different time and different players....PM had a GREAT running game!

This is true, Peyton also had a stud o-line full of upperclassmen. Definitely a recipe for success... but Peyton was used conservatively through the toughest stretch of schedule while Bray has made his living off of bad defenses thus far.

Peyton also destroyed V-Tech in the bowl game that year. I feel good about Bray but I remember knowing Peyton was going to be great and wondered why Branndon Stewart was stealing his snaps.

I was there...and PM played well.

But 12-19-189....1td and 1int is not"destroyed"

We have to remember that alot of people thought B. Stewart was a better QB that year!!!!

Manning had better talent...and played against BETTER talent!

I was excited when Peyton was a frosh, long before I knew he was going to be the first Peyton Manning.

for god sakes. tyler bray cannot be peyton manning. only peyton manning can be peyton manning. here's to hoping that tyler bray will be tyler bray, and will be great in his own right, that maybe someday we can say someone will be the next tyler bray, and i can say the same thing.

That game was over at halftime. I was there and 12 of 19 and 189 yards was pretty good when you consider Branndon Stewart also played, the game wasn't competitive at all and Fulmer was running a lot of trick plays that were working. Little Man went wild as well. I do remember the debate over Stewart and he was a more athletic QB.

I am very excited about Bray. I think he can be really good and we have the receivers to showcase his arm.

I based my post off of Chaney Quotes from earlier. He said that the coaches were laughing about how well Bray is doing because he usually has no idea what kind of defensive set is in front of him. Chaney laughed saying that they hope when he actually does learn to read defense it doesn't clutter his head and make him think too much! Now all you anal-analizing-critical know it alls can kiss my....

Yeah, most people are more worried about punctuation, context, and spelling than content...
