Barkley 3-1
88 of 143, 61.5%, 1005 yds (23d in FBS), 7.2 ypa, 6 Int, 12 TDs, 6 Sacks, PR141.3 (53d in FBS)
Bray 3-1
94 of 148, 63.5%, 1301 yds (3d in FBS), 8.8 ypa, 3 Int, 12 TDs, 2 Sacks, PR 160.1 (21st in FBS)

USC Opposing Ds Avg. Yards/Game:
Hawaii 392
Syracuse 357
Stanford 311
Cal 430

UT's Opposing Ds Avg. Yards/Game:
NCSU 325
Ga State 471
UF 305
Akron 415

Both QBs have played 1 ranked team (and lost), 1 good D, 2 bad Ds and 1 average D.
Neither QB runs particularly well.
UT runs 172 ypg -- USC 165.

Barkley is a Sr with 40 starts.
Bray is a Jr with 17 starts.

Difference is Bray has played Ga state and Akron both who would be little sisters to syracus and hawaii. :lolabove:

BOTTOM LINE: Tyler Bray is not the (and is the LAST) reason UT is not a great team. He was ahead 20-13 vs. UF in the mid 3rdQ, having just completed a 12-play TD drive against the vaunted UF D...and then D went to sleep.

You might also have forgotten the 16-play TD drive at the end of the 1st Half. SIXTEEN.

Just keep him on that pedestal. Because that has worked so well up to this point.

So the reason we didnt score again has nothing to do with him? But the fact that Florida did has all to do with our D? I remember Bray throwing a pick which lead to a score but I could be wrong.

We were ahead 20-13 notwithstanding the pick in Q1. And it was the D who left the right edge completely uncovered that allowed Burton to walk in for the TD. [The D failed to seal the left edge about 12 times, which allowed Burton's other TD and several successful Driskel scrambles and passes.]

BTW, Barkley threw 2 picks vs. Stanford and has 6 for the year. Bray has 3.

I'm just saying he's as good at the moment as Barkley, who, so far, appears to have gotten worse rather than better after a pretty good Jr. year.

And Barkley has had and has better talent across the board [although next year's SC QB won't.]

Hey guys, don't get me started on Ohio st.. I lived on that campus. They are the worst kind of people. You really don't want to hold them up. The comparison is pretty accurate. The problem Bray has had is two fold.

He sometimes let's his emotions get the better of him. Which I don't really mind. I like his fire.

The biggest problem is a weak run game to this point. That's what the problem has been all along. If you LISTEN to the coaches they tell you that. They are not lying to you. They haven't had much of a run game to work with yet. It is just now starting to come together. The backs are learning to run better. The front line is beginning to gel, and cheney knows he hasn't used it effectively, because he didn't know what he had. Listen to the coaches. They have been telling you this.

You are going to se the defense and the run game begin to gel. Or at least come together a LITLLE bit. This is going to be fun to watch. Sorry for any iPad spelling.

The biggest problem with our run game is 3rd and 3 or less. Opponents know we cant run for it. We try but we seldom get it. The power run game is all this offense lacks. I want to see one drive a game where we push it down the field by lining up and running the ball. The drive at the end of the first half of the UF game was one of the best of the Dooley era, minus the penalties.

Totally agree. Fans know it, coaches know it, opponents know it. Hopefully the only people who don't know it are the running backs. We need them to run like they don't know any better. That has a lot to do with the front line though. It's a team effort. We are going to need our front line like never before during these next few weeks.
