Scroggins isn't even going to visit UT. He's 100% solid to USC.
A. He's already visited Tennessee in the past genius.
B. He speaks highly of Tennessee to recruits that are also interested in USC. Why would he do that?
C. Tennessee continues to recruit him heavily.
D. Waiting 3 years to play in college isn't something he, nor anyone else really wants to do.
E. February is 6 months away.
He very well may end up at USC and good for him if he does. But my money is on him ending up in Knoxville. Jonathan Crompton having any sort of success this season will only solidify that opinion.
But I'm sure you thought that we wouldn't have had a chance for Richardson, Brown, or Teague either. They were all "100%" to someone else at one point also. Everyone is 100% when they first commit to someone.
I may end up being wrong, but if I'm not, make sure you're here to congratulate me and not pretend to be one of those that try to act like they knew it all along.
Then again, I could throw out the "sources" junk that many try to use instead of just going by a gut feeling. haha jk
Also, just a week ago Tyler Bray's father said his commitment to SDSU was strong. Yet I don't see you telling everyone in this thread that they are wasting their time. Imagine that.
"B" & "C" doesn't matter, and Scroggins knew "D" was a good possibility when he committed. Richardson, Teague, and Brown didn't live right down the street from their favorite childhood team. Moreover, "E" doesn't gaurantee anything. By your logic, we have a possibility of stealing every USC recruit. How reasonable does that really sound? And of course Bray's dad is going to say his committment is strong. What's he supposed to say, "He's committed, but he's not sure if he wants to go there"? Gimme a break.
I will congratulate you if you are right, but I'm not going to lie awake at night worrying about it. He is a Trojan, he has been a fan his entire life, and it is right down the road from where he lives. It doesn't get much stronger than that...everything else is smoke and mirrors and blind faith that he will change his mind.
I won't lose a second of sleep over our QB situation. It's not my job too. Which is why I said not to worry about Bray as if he's suddenly the savior when 2 months ago his thread in the recruiting forum barely had a page worth of posts.
I just think it's funny how quickly people jump from QB to QB however fast Brent Hubbs mentions someone new. Along the way they start to dismiss and forget about the others who we're recruiting heavily and who had genuine interest in us. Scroggins being the main guy. There is a reason you still see updates on Vol recruiting pages regarding him and that's because there is reason to believe, partly because of things that he's said, that he is not 100% to USC.
I'm just confident that he's going to sign with us. Hopefully he's not the only one to do so, because he's no sure fire All-Conference player either.
