Scout.com: 11 For '11 - Offensive Stars About To Explode

QB Tyler Bray, Tennessee
Bray was the best thing to emerge from an otherwise up-and-down season for the Volunteers. The backup to Matt Simms early on, he took over in October and wound up throwing for 1,849 yards and 18 touchdowns in just one half of his rookie season. Reminiscent of former Miami QB Ken Dorsey, he doesn’t quite have a rifle, but throws with accuracy and brings the poise of a veteran to the huddle. Once he adds more muscle and gets additional snaps behind center, he’ll be in a position to become the SEC’s premier hurler. While it’s very early in the process, it’s hard not to like the trajectory of a player who’s blossoming at a rapid pace.

I'd take the Ken Dorsey comparison along with the rest of the 2001 Cane squad.

I'd love to see Bray have anywhere near the success of Dorsey from his sophomore through senior year, but I think comparing their arm strength is ridiculous.

I don't need Scout.com to know that he is about to explode as a SEC QB. Good to see others have the same opinion though.

Bray's velocity is sick. IDK where they got that.

I do think we have some young talent, but I'm hoping the article didn't really make that comparison.

Think he meant that he wouldn't mind that success since Dorsey quarterbacked that team.

It's kind of a strange comparison, though. It's not like Dorsey is what made the team. I think there are quite a few people who could have posted a similar record.

Don't know how they can knock Bray's arm strength, but hey, at least he getting the recognition he deserves.

I'd like to see Bray beat a team with a winning record next year before I call him break out

As a VFL....I hope and pray this is true. However, we saw...(for those of you have been here long enough) EA get the same acolades and then fail his Soph. year.
Just not sure the's the second commng' of PM and I can't wait to see how many throw him under the bus after a few pix..............just sayin'

LMAO at CFN's analysis on Bray's arm......what the hell are they watching?????? Bray has a MUCH stronger arm than Dorsey. Also....I'm not sure why he is even being compared to Dorsey in the first place...much different players with different styles IMO. I never saw Dorsey over celebrating and Dorsey was a true student of the game with a noodle arm surrounded by NFL talent at every position......to compare the two is very very odd IMO....especially their arm strengths....WTF is CFN smoking????

On a separate note, does Bray watch film and do all the extra stuff required that much????I haven't really heard much about this work ethic and football IQ. I just know hat he can really sling it and is not scared of making difficult throws. He has a very high ceiling for sure.

Don't you have some Cherios to go stare at? Don't waste time on here posting! Get yourself to a sweat lodge for another Scroggins-esque vision quest!

I have high hopes for many fine Brays Days and renewal of UT rep as the wide receiver U of the SEC this fall. Lets just pray that all stay healthy and the kids stay focused with the off-season work ethic. :superman:

"Doesn't quite have a rifle"? WTF? What were they watching? I love reading snipets like this-talking up our players/team, only to read something within the clip that is essentially full retard. Makes me question the entire piece. To say that Bray doesn't have good velocity is moronic.

He has a frame similar to Dorsey so they just throw the rest of it in there true or not, idiots.
