Thanks dad. All I am saying is...if Bray played for another SEC team, VN would say he's waaayyyyy overrated and can't win a meaningful game to save his life - we wouldn't be scared of him in the least.

Most importantly, I am a UT alumni and bleed orange. Several of my close friends are Uga and Aub grads and they all find it very comical that Vol fans and media were/are hyping Bray as a premiere qb in the SEC. They all tell me I need to wake up and take my orange tinted glasses off. I have to finally admit that his resume thus far isn't very compelling. Here is what they said:

Here's there argument as to why Bray is overhyped and a joke:
1. He hasnt beaten a ranked team or even been close(within a TD) and he does the throat slash and other cocky gestures when he has had 2 losing seasons.
2. He slings the ball up for grabs alot and UT's receivers make him look alot better than he is. He could have easily had 6 int's vs a weak Fla team.
3. He is a subpar leader who doesnt inspire his teammates to work harder. It was obvious he couldnt care less about losing to a God awful Ky team and ending the streak. He lacks the maturity and/or drive to lead by example.
4. They rank him as the 4th best qb in the SEC. They would all prefer Murray, Tyler Wilson and Connor Shaw over Bray.
5. UT finished 11th in the SEC and is getting embarassingly worse...end of story.

As much as it pains me to say, they have some valid points...I think the jury is still out on Bray.

Don't hate the messenger, guys. I agree with everything. Let's not anoint him until he produces a winning record, a win over a ranked team, etc.

and one player wins a ton of games in football,,ok

just send him out there by himself,,he can run, block, kick catch to win a few

THEN we can say he has talent!!

He has started exactly 11 games, give the kid some time. Does it really matter if his wideouts make him look better than he actually is?[/QUOTE]

Didn't realize this for some reason. So basically Tyler has played less than one season as a starter. On track for a great career just hope the team can develop enough so that he's not forced into making bad decisions. Plus I hope he keeps himself out of trouble off of the field too. Would hate for him to ruin his career over stupid choices.

1. EVERY quarterback pads their stats against weaker teams. To use this as a slight against only Bray is asinine.

2. No running game. I repeat, no running game. Though this really shouldn't need saying, the fact that teams know they don't need to load the box to stop the run makes Bray's accomplishment's pretty legit.

3. I don't know if people remember or not, but through the first 3-4 games, until the Hunter injury, UT was one of the leaders in the nation in 3rd down conversion %, and one of the leaders in time of possession. Again, with no running game.

4. He passes the eyeball test. If you watch Bray, and don't realize that he'll be playing on Sunday at some point in the future, well, you've just got to swallow the bitter pill and realize that you really aren't very good at analyzing football talent. It's ok, that groups you together with people who actually make their living analyzing talent. They just simply aren't any good at it. And neither are you.

Jay Cutler is doing fine in the NFL

i didnt follow jay in college but i was unfortunate enough to watch him beat ut in 2005. bray might make it in the nfl but he will have to win some games against ranked teams before anybody but a ut fan will take him serious.

Bray is very much overrated. He tends to show his true colors from time to time. I think he's mostly supported by you bandwagoneers.

In my opinion, with more playing time Worley would be the better all around QB.

It's pretty obvious that Worley doesnt have near the arm strength of Bray. That is the main difference I see thus far.

NFL scouts will take him seriously.

Again I say, wouldn't he have to be "rated" above Murray and Wilson to be "overrated"? Did I miss where Tyler was selected all conference? Invited to some player of the year ceremony? I'm assuming they mean "overhyped", which also isn't true. I've heard several announcers say that Bray hasn't had to play through the thick of UTs schedule and so can't necessarily be considered "elite" yet.

Anybody not impressed by Bray's pre-injury performance had their minds made up ahead of time.

Bray had dmo and gerald jones too in addition to justin hunter and luke stocker. Worley had a pouting touchdown dropping darick and zach rogers.

It's not like Worley was even near the level of a healthy Bray. UT barely scored with Worley under center.

Worley may turn out fine, but you have to have some serious hatred for Bray to pretend Worley has shown nearly as much.

Worley played like a freshman. That doesn't make bray some savior because he put up stats on pedestrian teams at the end of last year and beginning of this year. UT fans consistently overrate their players.

We get it man, he laid it to your girl and you're upset..it's okay.

Atleast he'll be rich in a year or two.

considering the crappy run game and the loss of the #1 wr I'd say he still managed to put up some good numbers.....had Hunter stayed healthy this wouldn't even be a topic for discussion....throw in the fact that two of his games came after the thumb injury and then playing sick against KY

PASSING GP-GS Effic Cmp-Att-Int Pct Yards TD Long Avg/G
Tyler Bray 7-7 144.8 147-247-6 59.5 1983 17 81 283.3

I don't think bray has enough game to get with any girl I've ever associated with after seeing the trash he sloops around town with.
