Bray has been overrated

How can you be so sure? This is putting the cart way before the horse. He has potential, but has a long way to go to be a guaranteed nfl player. I hope you're right, but it's way too early to make this kind of declaration.

I would bet my first born he gets drafted (granted she's a teenager and driving us crazy).

He has he arm and physical tools and based on some of the QB's they have drafted, I think he definitely gets a shot. He could step in right now and do better than Curtis Painter :)

I very much agree with ya,Bray is overrated and immature im not sold on the guy being a team leader.I would start J.Worley next season over Bray i think Worley will end up being the better Qb.

Certainly wasn't good enough to beat out a sick Bray with a broken throwing hand.

Love seeing fans bash one of our 3 best players. Facts are we had 2 other qbs start for us this season and the recievers made them look like bad qbs. Bray played 2 ranked teams in his career? Pretty early to label him a loser not to mention he's done everything without a run game. I have a feeling some on here are going to be removing some foot from mouths next season.

was there a qb competition before bray came back or was that dooleys decision? bray looked just as bad or worse than worley would have looked...i think we should have stuck with worley at least the rest of the season when dools decided to burn his redshirt. bray might end up deing a bust, ive yet to see him lead this team to a win against any real competition.

no way,a bust would be what Palardy is looking like,,not even CLOSE to that kind of disappointment from Bray dude.

He's really only had one opportunity to beat a team worth a damn, and he was playing without his best wide receiver and no running game.

Jay Cutler is doing fine in the NFL

I believe he will get to the NFL. Not sure it will be after 2012 season, though. As for comparisons, the other guys have more weapons around them than Bray especially after Hunter went down.

Wow - the number of homers on this site is amazing. Bray openly rebelled against the seniors on the team, played like crap against UK and UGA (before the injury) - yet he is the next great QB at UT and in the SEC. Could we at least see the greatness in a game against a top tier SEC opponent first? He may be better than Peyton someday - but could we at least see some shred of evidence first?

OP is right. Doesn't mean Bray will not get better and be the best in the SEC. But he sure isn't now - not by a longshot.

good thing that manning guy had P. Price and M.Nash back in the 90's. He'd never amounted to squat if not for them...:crazy:

The same Sr. Leader who refused to go into a game when called upon by his coach?

And enough whining about the KY loss. That streak was going to end at some point and for all those still butthurt about it, we've been pretty close to losing it for about 6 yrs now, give or take a year.

Pretty sure that when he got hurt he was one of the 10 highest rated passers in the 120-team NCAA and easily highest in the SEC...7-to-1 TD-to-INT ratio is fine by me

THIS is exactly what the OP was saying---10th rated passer after he had faced WHOM (Montana, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Fla, and UGA)? He is way overrated by Vol fans because he is the only bright spot for us the last 2 years (compared to Sims), but that doesn't make him better than average. He didn't fare too well against either Fla (how many ints?) and UGA (how many TD passes?)--both had average SEC defenses with UGA's being a little better. I do not count this year's Vandy and KY game because he was sick and hadn't fully recovered from his thumb injury.

The kid has a good arm and is fairly accurate--but he still hasn't been tested against the BEST SEC defenses (Bama, LSU)--and has built his numbers and "legend" (lol) against way inferior teams.

Wilson is better, hands down! I'd say Bray is in the middle of the SEC QB pack. But--he is only a TRUE sophomore and I expect him to be READY to go in 2012. This team will have a chip on its shoulder and will come out with something to prove!

It's laughable that anybody on here thinks he will be a first-round selection in any draft because that would make him one of the top 5 QBs in the nation--and he ain't even close to that! IMO the jury is definitely still out on Bray--and if he struggles next year like he did this year--I don't think Dooley will hesitate to put Worley in the game! GO VOLS! :salute:

bray is being hyped because hes the best qb we've had in a while. And his performance as a freshman completely caught us off guard. His play as a freshman made us dream about how good he will be. That said theres no denying his stats. Yes hes played cupcakes. But so has every other qb in the nation.

Good thing Price and Nash had a guy named Manning throwing the ball to them or NO ONE would even know their name--

How's that crew of receivers doing in INDY right now without Manning? I rest my case! :salute:

I said "seniors", not senior leader FWIW. Which has nothing to do with my post and everything to do with Tyler's comments about not wanting to go to a sh**** bowl before the UK game. Or that he just needed time off from football after the game. The passing talent is there; but it is clear the heart, leadership abilities, and football smarts are not at this point.

I hear Bray is going to India this summer to find some good Karma or was it to an Indian restaurant for some good curry?

This^ UT homers would be singing a different tune had Bray played against Bama, Lsu and Ark. His stats wouldn't be nearly as impressive from the cupcake games.
