losing jansen hurt alot. the kid wasnt far from being on eric berrys level. i know people dont wanna hear that.
alot of fact in this post. last year in summer workouts, our jrs and srs had no clue how to help the young guys out, because they didnt know themselves. it will get better. wilcox had to scale the defense back some right off the bat, losing jansen hurt alot. now we have freshman or first year players running all over the def backfield. scaled back a little more.
next year all these jrs will be able to help the freshman out a little more. things will get better.
I understand what you are saying, but we have to have some development from start to finish. I haven't seen many players, save Maggitt and Johnson, that have really progressed this season. It's what a lot of people have noticed. We may not be privileged to see a lot of things up close, but the product on the field is what we see, and it's not been good at all since the Florida game really. At some point, we have to see players step up on offense, and no one really has taken that step forward.
we face alot of 7-8 man boxes now, thats what killed cincy, we had the horses to make them pay. if you noticed in the uf game, they dropped 7 back in coverage, soon as hunter went out it was 7-8 in the box. could tell they watched the cincy film and decided to try and stop the pass, hunter went down and they changed it up.
our 4 sophs also have a hard time picking up the blitzes on a run play. they will not get pushed around next year nearly as bad. the third year in the s&c program is the magic year for olinemen. go look at the oline depth chart on the top teams in the country, you'll see one common denominator.
Really? I've seen improvement with Couch, Hood, Bohannon, Miller, Lanier, Gordon, Randolph and Moore and more playing time for Carson. With this much youth improvement comes in fits and starts and sometimes with some set backs, but they're getting valuable experience and we'll see some significant jumps in the play over time.
Bray will start no doubt about it. If he struggles with passing he will be taken out. DD eluded to this if you look through his B.S Coach talk. No reason for him to sit on the bench if he can throw a ball better than our other options at this point.
Something tells me, but I just can't put my finger on it, that Poole is going to have an Oregonish type day. Call it a hunch, a premonition, or even an intuitive recognition. After all the crap that Tauren has been through the past couple of years I really think he's going to lay it all on the line come Saturday evening. People can say what they want about Tauren, but by god he has stuck it out through what may be UT's worst moments. If Bray starts, no way frankie boy can load the box.
