Bray and maturity?

I keep hearing about Bray being to immature. Innuendo? What has caused himto be labeled as immature? I understand that he's a freshman, is there more to it? Thanks.

to be a successful SEC level quarterback takes much more than physical skills. To be a successful SEC level backup quarterback takes much more than physical skills.

SEC QBs have to spend a lot of off the practice field studying football. They need to dig into film study and studying the offensive system. they need to line up wide receivers and other offensive players on their own to "toss the ball around". Just takes a lot of dedication if you are in the top 2 on an SEC football team.

Students, and student athletes are students, have a lot to learn to apply themselves to school and/or their athletic pursuits when they get to college. there are many distractions that pull them away from school work and any other school related activities they have. Many have a hard time adjusting to that especially in the first year. Some never adjust.

Tyler has not yet applied himself as a # 1 or # 2 quarterback at the SEC level needs to if they are going to be successful on the football field. BUT, as you said he is just a freshman. Most freshman come in knwoing they have a couple years to adjust..

In a nutshell, that is where he is IMO.

But Bray is immature?

I'm not advocating anything about Simms. In fact, I'd rather see Bray in there than Simms(my avatar was your first clue). That still doesn't make getting your name tattooed in huge letters across your back a smart decision.

I'm sure you have your supporters that agree with you, I just don't see the problem with it, at all....

I know lots of people out here who get their last names, etc tatted on. I think it is fine and shows pride in your family. Don't know why tattoos bother other people. Unless its a tramp stamp on a dude, then I draw the line.

not really sure what people don't understand. Is it not fair to hold our quarterbacks to a higher standard of behavior than the rest of the team? imo, character reflects leadership and at this point Simms is a better character/leader than Bray. I would also add that according to three or four receivers I've talked to, Bray's talent is above and beyond greater than that of Simms. It should be reasonable to assume that Coach Dooley values intangibles over raw talent, especially at the quarterback position.

It's hard to go from being all everything in high school where he probably was sheltered to being 2500 miles away from his family and not having guidence that he was used to. Hopefully, things will work out.

For you wanting Bray to start, the chances are pretty good given the young OL. Bide your time. Then we will have Nance. I hope Simms stays healthy, but chances are about even that he will not.

I went back and watched some of Manning's early games and he looked like a deer in the headlights. Every year he was here he made some poor decisions that led to interceptions. They're all young in college. Simms is not going to be perfect, but neither will Bray. Heck, even Peyton wasn't. Let's just let the coaches try to do their job. Bray will be a good QB when it's his time.

yeah and that will lead to failure in life. he should just kill himself now.

Damn tattoo.

Read through the posts before getting your panties in a bunch. Getting a tattoo is not the issue...for me anyways. I just think it's lame to get your name inked on your body. That's what I was eluding to as a bad decision....as joke. Haha? Guess not

I don't care that he got a tat. I'm more concerned about the lack of quality. I can picture Bray looking in the mirror saying, "That looks good dawg!". To which Briscoe replied, "Youre welcome Tyler, now you do me."

It's not the fact he got a tattoo, it's what the tat looks like.

It's a rather goofy looking tattoo.

That being said, I don't think that says much about him.

However, getting a goofy ass tattoo across your back leads some to question his maturity level.

Immaturity in this case is the fact that
A. He still has not adjusted to the speed of the game
B. He is not as dedicated to the off field requirements of being a SEC QB. Study, film and extra work with the receivers.
C. He is still physically vulnerable at this level in part due to the Oline inexperience.

Give him time.

Just curious. I know Bray has been there a semester longer, but how far behind Bray is Nance. Is Nance working harder than Bray? Does Nance look like he could ever get ahead of Bray?
