I keep hearing about Bray being to immature. Innuendo? What has caused himto be labeled as immature? I understand that he's a freshman, is there more to it? Thanks.

He is not physically ready to play behind our line- if he would have been sacked 6 times last week he would be in a body cast this week.

I understand his physical immaturity, just seems like there is something else that is being referred to. Like off the field, etc. He is very skinny, so was Ainge. Simms is our QB, I'm just trying to understand the entire situation.

I believe they are just trying to bring him along slowly and dont trust our line at this point. As this line begins to mature throughout the season he will see more snaps.

Yeah our pass protection doesn't allow for inexperience. I've heard or read some deeper issues, just trying to confirm. Hope it's all just idle chatter.

Remember that story about Ainge walking into Cutcliffe's office and Cut immediately telling him to lose the earrings? It's like that. Bray needs to mature mentally on and off the field before he gets the job, and when he does that he should be spectacular. There are plenty of college freshmen that haven't got it together, so this is not a knock on Bray. But the rumors of immaturity are true, and I'm sure Bray realizes he's being slammed for it. Hopefully by the spring he will have made progress and will be a strong option at Quarterback for us next year.

I don't see CDD tolerating much drama, especially from the QB--who needs to be a leader. I see him and Cut (and Saban, too) having a similar personality in this regard.

Can you imagine how Saban would respond to an 18-year-old, freshman drama queen? Sounds like Bray needs to grow a pair. If he is acting like a girl, then he isn't going to much of a QB here or anywhere.

Peyton came through it okay, and he was every bit as skinny as Bray in his freshman season.

He got a gay tattoo a while back that said BRAY in big letters across his back. While that is not exactly the kind of mature decision making example that you want to see out of your quarterback, it's not the end of the world. He is not running around smoking pot or anything like some people on here have said.

I continue to hear these stories about Bray's lack of maturity. What I've gathered is that Bray likes to party and possible smoke the funny stuff?

I'm not sure where these are coming from or if they are true. But is there anything else that is leading people to these conclusions? Not that, if true, partying and smoking weed when you are a D-1 QB isn't enough to be labeled immature, just wondering if I'm missing something.

Peyton had a top-shelf OL to play behind, and the three-deep at RB all started in the NFL (Garner, Stewart, Hayden). Big difference between then and now.

Really? He got a tattoo so he's not a mature QB? Unbelievable.

Maybe the coaching staff believes that his poor decision for a tattoo will equal poor decision making on the field?

How and why is getting a simple tattoo that says his name a "poor decision"?

Read the thread before you comment. He was asking where the perception came from.

I read the thread, and I still think your unbelievable because you said:

These guys are just kids when they go to school. SI put this picture of Peyton on their website the other day. He looks like he's 12. Bray (and others) just need time to mature.

and Simms is making better decisions? What's Bray going to do? Hand the ball off to a DB then facemask him with one hand and horsecollar him with the other during a late hit in the endzone?

But Bray is immature?

If Matt Simms is now the mature leader that were hearing about, Bray can certainly pull things together and be a mature leader as well.

Man, shouldn't that be a newspaper in his hand?

I don't think Bray's maturity issues or standing on the football team have anything to do with the tat. I would say it is the whole package.

I was joking about the choice of getting his name inked on his back more than anything else. I could care less about tattoos. I've got them and I'm sure there's plenty of other people that have them.

I just think it's pretty lame to get your name inked anywhere on your body. Do people need a reminder of who they are?
