Braxton Miller

*Per some guy on VQ...apparently Tennessee is in contact with Braxton Miller. Convincing, I know.

I really like Dobbs...but jeez this would be nice. Braxton makes us clear SEC East favorites. I know its a long shot, but I'm going to dream.

Get Hype!

Completions to me can be deceiving. Say a guy completes 100% of his swing passes that net a loss of 2? If that's all the coaches dial up since he hasn't completed any of his other throws was he productive? That exact scenario was what we saw against Vandy. My 5 year old daughter could tell you it was a bloated stat.

Exactly. A lot of his completions were swing passes and even pitching it forward counts as a completion. One minute he looks great, like the across the field pass had a lot of zip and right on, but the majority of the game he was badly missing open receivers down the field and missing them badly. If he can't improve his accuracy he will be similar to Maty Mauk. Has an occasional good passing game but for the most part hits about 50% of his passes and can be very streaky. Is good when he is on but flat out horrible when he isnt.

I really hope so. He is far and away miles ahead of Dobbs in every faze. Would be a huge get if we can get him. Offense would be at a different level, with Peterman pretty much gone we could take Braxton and not have to recruit the third QB. Gives Dobbs the potential to RS and if Miller were to get hurt we have Dobbs as the backup and can RS the incoming FR. Much better situation than Dobb's starting and potentially having to have Jennings as the backup if Dormady is recovering from another surgery. Really, Really hope this is true and he comes here. Not counting on it but would be a great Christmas Present.

Not sure how it's possible to do that right now without committing a tampering violation.

I don't know the rules on that but would think if Braxton made contact it would be different. But really have no clue the rules on any of that.

I'm not so sure Braxton leaves with Jt Barret having an injury along with allegedly beating his pregnant girlfriend.

I would think he would have to decide pretty quickly and can't wait around to see how that part plays out. Wouldn't Barret be ready to go by next season or is it a longer recovery time?

I'm sure Barret would be ready, but if the allegations are true about him beating his pregnant girlfriend, I don't see how he is still on the team. It is Urban tho

Exactly..never know with Urban. Not sure what yr their 3rd string guy is in but if he balls out against Ala that just adds to the competition at QB.

Can SEC schools get QB transfers with one year of eligibility left? All the ones I remember recently had at least 2.

Coker
Rivers
Carta-Samuels
Nick Marshall

The last one with one year of eligibility was Masoli at Ole Miss that I can remember.

Well if peterman leaves and Dormady is injured then we need another QB either as a Transfer/JUCO or another recruited QB. Miller would be awesome but idk how interested he is in our team.

Think Marshall was a Juco but long as you have graduated you can transfer without sitting out. Think that's what Dre Bowles is doing he has supposedly already graduated and could probably transfer and able to play immediately. Think the school just has to offer some kind of post graduate degree that is affiliated with your degree..Something like that.

I'm not sure either but would have to be intrigued to play in the SEC and see our talent at WR and skill positions..Downside would be our Oline play. Would think he would atleast be interested in looking ..Be our luck he transfers to Ala. Would think TN, LSU, Oregon would be a few intriguing places. But he is an Ohio Kid so I'm not sure. Possibly ND or FSU also.

If they graduated from their previous school and are using the immediate eligibility rule for graduates, yes. The catch is that the player must be in a major not offered at the graduate level at his previous school.

I think he either goes to Oregon or somewhere in the SEC. I could see him at either school in Alabama. Will be interesting to see what he does

Think it might piss Dobbs of if he came, Dobbs got 2 years would you trade that for 1, 16 is the year that we will peak as a team.

Unless that process gets sped up with a big time athlete. I've seen it happen and we are in prime position for it.

Average yards per attempt balances a potentially bloated/deceiving completion percentage. Dobbs' avg yds per attempt this year was right at 7 yards..... a good not great number, middle of the pack for SEC QBs. By comparison and to provide context, Worley's was 6.3 this year while Blake Sims' was 9.2 which led the SEC.
