Braxton Miller

Yep. Scuttlebutt is, he's already met with SCOTT FROST. It would make sense post-Mariota.

Love to see him at UT, but it seems less likely.

So he's going to Nebraska? :eek:hmy:

I guess if he wanted to meet with Oregon's OC, Frost was the guy. If Frost goes to UCLA to replace Mora who's been contacted by Michigan, who knows? Welcome to Crazy Season!

Frost is earmarked for Nebraska IMO.

Dobbs and Peterman are our QBs going forward. If necessary they can put Jennings in and run the ball a little more. That's just the way it is.

No. So much no. While I dont think Peterman transfers, the only way he plays a meaningful snap moving forward is an injury to Dobbs. Dormady passes him on the depth chart as soon as he hits campus.

I agree-- he has too many Nebraska ties not to be the frontrunner, even though he's young and unproven as a HC. I was just being facetious, because Mora-to-Michigan has been floated and is creating some unease in Westwood.

It shouldn't...UW was his "dream job" when he was coaching Vick and the Falcons...when he turned them down last year, you glimpsed how happy he is in LA.

I sort of disagree. I never insinuated Peterman was going to play "meaningful snaps" per se. He will be, however, the # 2 QB whether you like it or not. Dormady should red shirt. If we have to play a true freshman at some point I believe it will be Jennings who will have been an EE and can mimic Dobbs' style of play. Who knows, though.

with everyone arguing about josh dobb's accuracy... let's compare completion stats.... obviously lots of factors play into this like level of competition and ability of receivers but its still something interesting to look at. josh dobbs looks really in there with a lot of impressive QBs this season (even though hes got less of a sample) and with some healthy, improved receivers and a healthy, improved offensive line, his numbers should only go up from here.

dobbs--61% on the season (even with his 55% at vandy; best game was kentucky at 70% and impressive during missouri at 65%; even 59% at bama fresh off the bench is impressive)
braxton miller in year before injury--63.5% (was his best season yet though he improved each of his 3 seasons--year 1: 54%; year 2: 58%)

HYPED Running QBs
heisman front runner marcus mariota (oregon)-- amazing 68% on the season. (has had consistently high completion percentages all three years-- year 1: 68%; year 2: 63%;)
blake sims (bama)--63% on the season (incredibly impressive 74% during auburn game)
deshaun watson (clemson)--67% on the season
JT Barrett (OSU)--64% on the season
Nick marshall (auburn)--60% on the season
Dak Prescott (miss st)--61% on the season

QBs in the SEC East who run
treon harris (florida)--50% on the season (awful game at FSU threw 40%)
maty mauk (mizzou)--53% on the season (actually slightly improved from last year at 51% despite losing DGB)

I'll let Butch make that evaluation if it in fact comes to fruition that he leaves OSU. But it might be nice to steal a QB that lays the lumber to his old defense in a bowl game...."hello Von Bell."

Would be a heck of a jump start to Frost's career at Nebraska if he came in and brought in a QB like Miller. Would get him some wins in his first season and get him some attention from recruits.

Doubt Frost is even at Oregon next yr..Very good chance he is Nebraska's next HC.

Think you're leaving out Dormady who has the highest ceiling of them all as a pure QB.

Dormady is an EE and is further along as a QB. Jennings redshirts before Dormady if I had to guess.

Completions to me can be deceiving. Say a guy completes 100% of his swing passes that net a loss of 2? If that's all the coaches dial up since he hasn't completed any of his other throws was he productive? That exact scenario was what we saw against Vandy. My 5 year old daughter could tell you it was a bloated stat.
