So Chiles and Bonds are splitting time at pg?

I would say there's still a lot TBD

Does anyone else become available late?
Does Bonds get full release so he can play this year?
Does Mostella show he can play point?
Does Tyndall like what he sees with Punter at point?

Ideally I'd want chiles and bonds at pg I see punter as more as a scorer but the same can be said with chiles

Darius Thompson?

No, he's sitting out this year at Virginia.

And it hasn't been confirmed if it's a full release or not, that's what needs to be determined.

My bad I was way off,I have no clue about eligibility which is why if I ever get a college and I commit I ain't leaving lol

I assumed DT preferred Mostella at SG

The 2 guard spot is also one position we have some depth at this year, that's why I hope Mostella can play point some we need the depth there.

I added his recruiting profiles. Rivals just lists him as a 2* with a Liberty offer. 247 and ESPN list him with offers from Liberty, Radford, MTSU, Miami (OH), and LSU. He is a #* on Scout and 247, NR on ESPN.

Let me ask this: since McKnight got denied, doesn't that mean that we have an extra scholarship for this season? I understand that they may still be looking to add someone else, but that one year scholarship can be used for a current walk-on or Bonds.

I know UT is a much better place to show off your skills than Liberty, but I am sure he is getting help financially somewhere. He may have met the academic requirements for the lottery money, but as always with these decisions, he is giving up a total free ride.

Personally, I would prefer Tyndall not give Bonds the scholarship. No matter how much this team needs PG play this year, I was hoping we were done handing out 4 year scholarships to project guys. If he gives Lopez the scholly for 1 year and lets Campbell and Bonds be the teams 2 walk-ons I would like that better. Jmo

The latter scenario is what I was referring to. I don't expect them to offer a 4 year scholarship at this point. But, you have that one for this year that you may as well use. Lopez would make sense because he has done the work. Or, you tell Bonds that it is a one year deal, and we will talk about something more after we evaluate you and see your work ethic. I think you also have to realize that the open scholarship could greatly help land Blackwell. Just something I was throwing out there.

All scholarships are technically 1 year deals. However, bringing in a kid for 1 year on scholarship then pulling it leads to hurt feelings. I much prefer the good publicity from giving a 4 year walkon a scholly his senior year to make room for Bonds vs the stink taking a guy off scholarship will cause next year.

And there are 2 open scholarships iirc.

Either way it's just my opinion.

We have 2 open scholarships currently
