Here's my list for spring:

WR1
1)Peerless Price
2)Marcus Nash
3)Kelley Washington

WR2)
1)Willie Gault
2)Donte Stallworth
3)Robert Meachem

:)

I really wish that Volnation was a "Kelley Washington Free Zone". After that 2002 Florida pre-game special...He should be banned for life.

Personally I wanted to see Warren at DE myself but as long as he is on the field I'll be happy.

Washington was the beging of the fail of TN football. Atitudes are contagious and once his rubbed off it was like the snow ball effect. I think the furture was the biggest factor in the fall of cfp. There were so many problems with this guy that most of us fans dont eeven know.

Can't single out one guy especially when that guy was producing more than anybody else at the time.

I think that this is just another part of getting the overall o-line line back where it needs to be instead of having smaller faster players in front of the qb. Warren was quick at te, he just can't block as well as cottam or douglas and I don't think the vols will be running too much double te stuff. Stocker is gone right?

I may be mistaken, but I believe warren missed a key block during one of the missed block/handoff fumbles. And then he dropped a couple passes early on in the season that stuck out pretty bad when the vols needed heroes.

But this is a new year and I just know warren will help the receiving core. Warren can definately block the little guys outside from the slot or wide and help us get the speed running game going right at the corners.

I just don't see the vols getting back to power running football anytime soon.

It depends on the system, but usually the smaller faster guys are in the slot so they can stretch the seam and get separation on crossing routes. It makes more sense to have a big WR on the outside who can get up high and snag the fade route and hang on to the ball on a post route.

I think Warren being moved to WR is a sign that we have 3 pretty solid TE's already. Don't read too much into this move signaling that Charles is coming here.

TE's include:
Cottam, Stocker, and Douglas

This may be just me, but I see Douglas putting on weight and moving to offensive line

Douglas is a couple of Big Whoppers away from OT size already, he'll probably have to move to OT out of pure necessity. I'm not sure he has the speed to be an effective receiving TE. Given the skills he's developed at TE, he should be a very athletic OT which is required to handle the smaller speed rushers that are the rage now.

Stocker is a Junior. Cottom is a senior, needs to have a huge year. Douglas can play 2 TE sets in running situations as practice for his ultimate conversion to OT.

Please replace Kelley "the past" Washington with Joey Kent. At least Kent was reliable and did not cause a distraction during press conferences.

Furthermore, I think that Brandon Warren will be great at WR. Last year we only had really 1, but also last year we didn't have anything else. Is there any way to wipe the '08 year off of the record books (Granted there were no records for offense)

Let's hope the new coaches get Crompton to stop testing the receivers and start throwing the ball to them.

Just a thought- The movie "I Spy" with Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy featured a loud mouth, egotistical, self promoting, boxer named......................"Kelly Washington", anyone think its too much of a stretch ?:hi:

FWIW, Warren's uncle stated that Kiffin said Warren reminded him of Mike Williams.

Works for me. Obviously Kiffin sees something in him. I just hope he gets a lot of playing time, because I think he really is a good athlete.

I may be wrong, but BW freshman year he lined up at slot some with FSU...where he was a freshman all-american...can't be any worse then what he did last year...which wasn't much of anything...

I don't think a slot receiver will be used a lot next season except on obvious passing downs. IMO Kiffin will run a Pro-Set (FB, RB, TE and 2 WRs), what USC usually ran.

Ideally put the best 11 athletes on the field. I think he has a better shot at playing time at FB, throwing to him out of the backfield.

I'm guessing he's not a great blocker and that's part of the reason he moved from TE to WR. Would like to see him get on the field more.

Ideally you put your best 11 athletes on the field. I would ask him to play FB. I think he has a better shot at playing time at that position, throwing to him out of the backfield. I'm guessing though, he's not a great blocker and that's part of the reason he moved from TE to WR. Just would like to see him get on the field more.

With Chaney coming on board, I think we will see a little mix of things. Remember, Kiffin has worked with USC QB's but Chaney has worked with Drew Brees who is probably the second most successful QB in the past 3-4 years behind Peyton Manning.

Most of that blame goes to things beyond BW's control. With the ball in his hands, he looked good (what 1 or 2 times). It's hard to talk about the '08 offense.

Anyhow... I see Warren with short patterns, a good move to juke an LB and then a punishing shoulder for some small DB's after he moves down the field. He's the possession reciever, not Rogers.
