Like ebonics?

By the way, I have heard as many yankees butchering the English language as I have southerners.

What is a Caa? Would that be a car

What is Cads? Would that be cards

What do you define as yankees? The dialect in Michigan is totally different than New Yawk. The dialect in Boston/New England is different than New Yawk. In reality the dialect in the Bronx is different than Brooklyn, etc. The same goes for South Boston and other parts.

What you are referring to is dialect, not grammar and common sense. I don't have a problem with southern dialect just ignorance.

He played DE at FSU. I don't think he's the answer or even a part of it at TE. UT will have Stocker backed up by Adderly, Rivera, and Bartholomew.

UT definitely needs more depth at DE and especially if they can somehow bulk one of them up enough to play passing downs at DT.

If BW has any shot at the next level (which is slim to start with), it is as a DE and not a TE. He doesn't have the height to play TE at the next level.

you sir, need to get your facts stright before you open your mouth and let everybody here know how dumb you are.keep quite and let everybody guess.:hi:

If he can be a contributing factor to the TEAM and not a distraction, then give him a chance to prove he can play the game the way it was meant to be played.

There was no doubt he had/has talent and can be an asset if he keeps his head straight, follows the rules and does the classwork as well. Give him ine chance, and one chance only.

He strikes me as very similar physically to Dallas Clark of the Colts. There's a role on some teams for a smaller, quicker athletic TE/Slot receiver. If the offense can design some plays for that type of player he could be successful. He won't be successful trying to play a traditional TE or WR position.

Yeah, my hatred of Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson, Butch Davis, et al is widely documented.

Yeah. We've kind of been through that before. Pick three names out of 100's. Your snide comments aren't limited to coaches btw.

You exemplify what southerners resent in condescending non-southerners.

I consider someone a "yankee" when they consider themselves better than anyone else, just because they were born north of the Mason/Dixon line.

Exactly what's "going well?" This staff, for all of the slobbering praise they are receiving, brought in about the 6th best class in the SEC. Awesome, with the WAC quality coaching staff he's assembled, that should be good for some trips to Nashville or Shreveport.

Rivals has 4 teams ahead of UT Auburn signed 32 players which pumped them up. To expect a guy to out recruit UF, Bama, and LSU with only 2 weeks to do it is irrational. The fact that UT finished 9th and inside the top 10 for two consecutive years for the first time in more than 8 years is by definition "going well".

Yeah. There you "show" again. More of the new staff was in the NFL last year than in the WAC... but to you it is a WAC quality staff.

I have no idea how good they'll be or won't be... nor do I pretend to like you or the Kool-Aid drinkers.

There is a difference between southern dialect and ignorance. I don't have a problem with the southern dialect, but when people butcher the English language with double negatives and quite frankly nonsense, I am going to have a kneejerk bias.

I am too. I've lived in the west, midwest, and southeast. I've had business dealings and have traveled to every corner of the lower 48. There are all across the US who butcher the English language. The proportions are relatively consistent regardless of their accent.

You sir might ought to take your own advice before making a complete and total fool of yourself.

While Warren did play and excel as a TE for FSU, he got spot work as a rush DE as well. There was discussion when he transferred back about which position he would play.

I was born and raised in the south. I missed the referendum where people below the Mason Dixon line appointed you their spokesperson.

Where were the head coach and the defensive coordinator last season? Just because you want to try and sell false hope doesn't mean anyone is obligated to buy. I love the "nobody knows how things will turn out" silliness. Since you think that way, here's an idea. Take your paycheck every week and spend all of it on Powerball tickets and crack. Nobody can sa for sure that won't work out well for your. News flash:When you shop at Big Lots, you get cheap crap. Dooley is a Big Lots quality hire.

Bdub isnt even on the official roster on UTsports.com, don't know how often they update the roster. Obviously more than just before season or he'd be on it from last year. I could have sworn he was actually kicked off the team, however he may have cleaned up his act and worked his way back in. The only positions I see him playing are TE or reciever. And being how we are thin at TE, i really cant see him anywhere else, unless he forgot how to block last year. I also remember him dropping almost everything that came his way last year but that was before Crompton got in his groove. He has the talent- hope if he is back he can translate that into work ethic as well.

I always thought with the right coach that this kid could be good. I said the same thing about TO for years. Time will only tell. I hope he is good, we could use another TE or large, posession type receiver his size.

Just an outstanding thread here. We should all be really, really proud of the work we've done here. Think I'm gonna go get me a twelver, drink it, and go Yankee huntin'! Woooooo Hoooooo!

Being from or living in the North does not make you a jerk, but apparently being a Tennessee fan and posting on VolNation can...

I'm not selling anything. I'm not concluding anything. I said already this is a very high risk hire and an act of desperation on the part of Hamilton. How does that qualify as selling false hope?

I love the "nobody knows how things will turn out" silliness.
It isn't silly. It is reality. Do I think the probabilities favor it being a great hire... well, what would a normal person decipher from "high risk hire"? I would love for it to work. I take some solace in the job they did salvaging the 10 recruiting class. There are a few things both in the background of Dooley and the staff that bolster hopes.

However the SEC is the conference of big dogs. Dooley's resume didn't scream out "I belong at a top SEC program" when he got hired. This experiment may blow up in MH's face.

Since you think that way, here's an idea. Take your paycheck every week and spend all of it on Powerball tickets and crack. Nobody can sa for sure that won't work out well for your.
Yes they can... and to any rational person that constitutes a very poor analogy. But to the cynic... it makes perfect sense.

News flash:When you shop at Big Lots, you get cheap crap. Dooley is a Big Lots quality hire.

I've bought things at Big Lots. I've bought things from high end stores... and everything in between. The best piece of furniture I've ever bought was from a hole in the wall outlet shop southwest of Chicago that was run out of a warehouse.

You don't "know" until you "know".
