Do you guys think the role Warren plays will change in 09?

Will he actually see the field and have the ball thrown his way?

I don't know how much a CLK offense uses the TE....if Warren is still a TE next season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a shot at DE. Not sure how effective he would be there this late in his career, but I bet he gets a look at least.

I didn't get that sense at all. From what I see he just wasn't being utilized properly, or at all in many cases.

He's going to be a WR with Kiffin probably. He's just not big or strong enough to play TE in Kiffin's system.

In Kiffin's offense, the TE play is key, but will Warren play at TE? Kiffin likes to use BIG WR( Mike Williams at USC) so he might play alot more wide then this year. I think Warren has the talent to play TE in this system. Look at another guy CLK got in Fred Davis. Coming out of high school, this kid was a big WR that moved to TE. So Kiffin can make it work with what we have.

He will most likely not stay at the traditional TE position next season. If he does he will not play much. Hopefully they can find some way to utilize his talent in some slot/H-back type packages. But the problem is that he got very overhyped by people and his expectations were too high. He is a very good athlete with some size. But he does not like to be physical and his work ethic has been questioned at times.

I think that the logical position would be TE. He would pose matchup problems for any linebacker in the conference. If he is used on defense, he would be an excellent mike linebacker (in the Tampa two). He is a little too short and light to be an effective defensive end.

While on the subject of new positions, If Brandon stays at TE, I hope that Jeff Cottam gets a look at DE.

not exactly the same subject...but when is Aaron Douglas going to move to tackle?
he is not nearly fast enough to compete with the other TEs we have on the team. I hope Kiffin's O-Line coach can put some meat on his bones and turn him into a true OT.

I really hope Warren has the chance to excel in Kiffins offense.....Fred Davis sure did well in it at USC. I am not one to really bash on Fulmer.....but how do you get a Freshman All-American from a school like FSU, and manage to turn him into a complete NON-factor? Isnt Warrens speed descent for a TE?

Warren needs to be working hard on his speed and learning the slot postiton. The tight Ends on our team next year are huge and a lot bigger then Warren! He has decent hands but would be a pretty big threat in the slot!

I mean Stocker,Cottam, Douglas...all probably better at blocking which is a very big deal as a tight end. And all of them have pretty decent hands as well. I like Warren but dont see him playing much at tight end.

To be honest, I'm not sure how he was a Freshman AA
28 catches for 300 yards and 1 TD?

And sure he's good good speed for a TE, but he's pretty undersized. Kiffin wants big guys who can drive people off the ball, but also have soft hands, because they're usually the safety valve for most of the plays.

Warren isn't big enough to be a TE for him, but he would fit in well as a slot WR in this system.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. No facts needed here. Warren was a freshman all-american at FSU so Fulmer obviously blew it with him! Nevermind that his stats we very mediocre at FSU. He is not physical and has no desire to play physical. That means that as a TE he is of no use unless we are passing the ball. You think he is a useful TE if every time we put him in we throw and every time we take him out we run? Or do we just leave him in when we run and get no productive blocking out of him?

He is most likely to contribute in some type of slot/hybrid position.

Yes it is. They threw to him quite a bit because the QB could not make the throws to the WRs. It was nothing spectacular at all. So if he finished with those numbers this year at UT you think fans would be excited about how good he was this season?

He was a true freshman, those are solid numbers for a TE. If he would have put those numbers up this year, it would have been a good season.
