Odd. Also hoped we could see a developed deshawn Rucker this year. Defensive tackles was kind of a surprise too the way they have it on the depth chart.

I thought the same thing as far as the defensive tackle position goes. I’ve thought it would be Simmons and Thomas starting side by side.

Cain talked about it on Locked On Vols. Said nothing serious was going on and he expects him to play a solid role on the team this season. Said he thought the injuries were healed up and there are no long term issues but that it did hold him back just a little this fall camp.

After seeing Turnage start for Theo last year, I have a hard time believing we have that many better DBs on this team. He must be in the doghouse for something

Sometimes with these 5 stars who transfer, there's a reason it didn't work out at their first school, and alot of times it ain't the first school's fault. De'Angelo Gibbs is another one we got from the portal and I'm not sure he ever played a meaningful down.

Maybe you two should text a buddy.

Here's what we actually know.
Turnage is coming off a knee injury and didn't even begin practicing until well into the Summer.
The depth chart is two-deep at each position, it's not a comprehensive list where every player sits in the rotation and/or how the coaching staff evaluates them.
It's not a snapshot in time for week 1. This order is not set in stone and can and will change over time due to player health and performance in practices and games.
There's six slots listed and nine CBs (not counting Freshmen or walk-ons) on the roster. Three are getting left off regardless and that is not necessarily any indication of attitude or effort.

Just because Turnage is not listed in the Week 1 depth chart absolutely does not mean he "must be" in the doghouse. Be a good fan, don't start rumors.

Injury or not, when I see people ascend or new people take spots I think that’s a great thing. Shows improvement on the roster and competition. Take last season for example. If not for bringing Hendon and Milton in we’d be stuck with 2 QBs that can’t even start at SF Austin and UNLV. And there’s more examples as well. I’m excited to see TMac and Walker at Star.

I d ok by like seeing Warren Burrell as the starter. That’s means no one was good enough to take that spot. It was definitely one up for grabs.

Boys regardless, be loud and proud. .. I think injuries may have hampered Turnage a bit and the other guys are playing a little better right now.
