Good info OP. He is just a good of a guest as any.
My wild guess is someone not even thought of on here or in staff promotion,Friend or Osovet.
There is a coaches convention(something like that) coming up so if they don't name one after that it's probably gonna be a promotion from within.

Perusing other message boards I was shocked to see the ole Football Coach's name keep coming up and see it on a few different boards......anyone else hear the name Steve Spurrier. Don't shoot the messenger. Just making a statement about what's out there!!!

This would make a lot of sense. I'm sure Dabo would love to keep Streeter thru the Championship Game as he is working with a true freshman QB. Go ahead and get the deal pretty much done, but don't release anything until after the Championship game so there is no chance that it affects Trevor Lawrence in a negative way. Would back up what Matthews said and also explain the silence. As good a theory as any out there.

Was my original thinking leading up to making this thread. He has Lawrence looking like a Junior and he is a great recruiter also.

Makes as much sense as some of the other stuff, like waiting for the fans to calm down from thinking its going to be Friend so they can announce Friend.

Enos and Streeter were the only two names I was told when the Helton announcement happened. Not to start an argument about JG's ability but was told Pruitt wanted an OC who could develop a quarterback. With Streeter being a very good quarterback coach, the timeline, and lack of no announcement to date, Streeter fits. The problem I can't get passed is why Streeter would leave Clemson as he is in an excellent position/situation there. Personally, I think Streeter would be a great hire.......a 10 out of 10.

A Million dollar raise erases your problem.

Streeter, who also serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator, will see his salary jump from $430,000 to $455,000.

I got food poisoning from the last few coaching leftovers I consumed from UT so scuse me if I wait and see if it kills anyone else before I dive in.

Think a lot of potential candidates were not interested in coming to a weak program. Some say Pruitt is a genius football mind, but let's be honest. He was sixth choice and as yet still questionable to me.

Pretty sure he was Phil's first choice. Greg Schiano was our other dudes first, so, I don't know, what was we talking about?

Yep. And none of the names have made much sense to me considering what Pruitt wants to run and the name(s) we're being spoon fed. Most of it's Jimmy Sexton being Jimmy Sexton.

Generally, the use of the phrase "picking through leftovers" is not used in a positive manner. By your definition, any coach would be a "leftover".
