In the AP report on the game against Notre Dame, and more specific the injury of Erik Ainge, I was shocked at the poor sportsmanship of a Division I player. No doubt trying to take credit for another athletes misfortune.

And I Quote:

"You don't just hit people to tackle them. You tackle them so they won't get back up. I say that respectfully. We had a great opportunity. We've lost a lot of close games and we needed to prove what type of team we are. I think that happened today."

Yessir I think you did. :twocents:

I thought that what he said was uncalled for. He probably should have kept his mouth closed so he would not have stuck his foot in it like that! :bad:

I thought that was poor sportsmanship too.

Did the guy even hit Erik that hard? I think it was more of how Erik landed on his shoulder that caused the injury.

Replay looked like he drove his weight into Eric's left shoulder with a lot of momentum! Probably just trying to leave Eric with a little something to remember him by! :shakehead:

A player admitting that he was TRYING to injur another?!?! That's despicable. I expect more from such a respected program as ND... I only expect that crap from Florida schools.

I ain't got a problem with FSU.

Spurrier was always accusing them of dirty play, that's why I lumped 'em in with the other two. There was one time that I saw a FSU player do something that looked intended to cause an injury.

Here is a message I posted on the Tennessee Vols Football Yahoo! group. I think this is a fair assesment of our extreme hatred:

Did anyone see the AP recap of the UT-ND game? If you did, review
the following quote by ND LB Brandon Hoyte: "You don't just hit
people to tackle them. You tackle them so they won't get back up. I
say that respectfully."

What a steaming, stinking load of :bs:

How stupid does he think we are? He intentionally maimed
Ainge and took delight in it. He is a cancer that has no business
in this sport. He better thank God he's a senior, because next
year, the UT offensive line would've given him his at South Bend. I
hope and pray Coach Willingham puts the wood to his sorry butt. :spank:

I hope he gets drafted by the NFL. I pray that his football career
will bomb just like Roseanne's singing career. If the Titans are
stupid enough to draft him, I will not acnowledge his presence on
the team, no matter what he does. :biteme:

Please distribute this message as far north as you can. I want that
punk to know how bad UT fans hate him. He has personally sent our
season and BCS bowl hopes down the crapper. :flush:

You heard me right. Come get some, Hoyte, you worthless piece of :censored: !!!
