Do I need to spell it out for you?

It's no longer acceptable to use the word "gay" in a derogatory way.

It doesn't bother me, personally, but it does when a Vol fan says it on a Vol forum. I don't want to be associated with it. It's trashy. Alabama is trashy. Alabama's fanbase is trashy. I don't want Tennessee's fanbase to be considered trashy. I don't want to be similar to Alabama in any way possible. Leave the redneck mentality to the ones in Bryant-Denny. When you're posting on a Tennessee website, show some class.

It's unacceptable to use Gay in a derogatory way, but it is still ok to use redneck and trashy in a derogatory way when referring to people. Ok....got it. It's hard to keep up sometimes. :good!:

Political correctness is not meant to be rational - just heavy handed, intimidating speech policing.

100% agree.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live in NW TN. They love bammer, the Boston Red Sox, and the Atlanta Braves... depending on which one is doing good at the time. Don't they look stupid now, as far as baseball? I haven't heard a peep out of them about baseball. By the way, I'm a die hard Cardinals and, of course, Vols fan. They've shut up about baseball... looking forward to when they shut up about football, although they will likely jump to the Vols bandwagon.

I'm a Bravos fan and it has been a rough couple of years and next won't be any better, but I'm still a Bravos fan. Just like I am a Die hard, bleed Orange and White with a hint of Smokey Grey, represent the T here in Gamechicken country, VOLS fan. This year is gonna be sweet, but next year is gonna be outstanding.

I hate to admit, but I'm a bandwagon fan. I've only pretended to love the Vols for the past 32 years! :)

As a engineer in the solid waste management industry, I personally find it highly offensive that you would use the word "trashy" when talking about Alabama fans. I hope the PC police will issue a ticket for your disrespectful and highly offensive language.

You've got a sh***y job.

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. You do have a valid point on the "redneck" statement.

But I think some on here missed my point entirely. Anybody who has called me the PC police or accused me of using "heavy-handed" language to "intimidate" certainly needs to revisit my original statement.

My qualm is not with using the word "gay." It's with embarrassing our fanbase (which I'm guilty of by using the word "redneck.")

I'm good with this. To be honest, I don't like seeing Gator used either, but it's mostly because I think it looks stupid. :hi:

Still too many damn A's around the Dickson/Hickman County area.
Don't worry. Its all about to change. We will give Bama all they want this year in Alabama. ( who knows we might pull off the upset) Saban hates the hurry up offence. Next year when they come to Knoxville will be time for revenge.

I can only imagine what our recruiting classes will look like with the bandwagoneers on board. Gotta admit, as the bandwagon goes so go the recruits. See Alabama, Ohio State, USC(Pac12) all bandwagon schools that get recruits in their sleep. We are well on our way , the bandwagon cant get here fast enough. Then its time for a #1 overall class for 2017, book it!

The season is almost here y'all! It seems like the Tennessee Vols are the trendy "dark horse" pick for analysts around the country. With the hype and sure-to-follow success, I predict a lot fewer crimson "A's" (yuck) and a lot more Orange "T's" (that's more like it) on vehicles here in South Tennessee and beyond.

How do you guys feel about this? Are you happy to see the abundance of UT representation, knowing good and well many of the people donning it were sporting crimson a year or two ago?

Or would you rather see less Orange but have the security of knowing those sporting it are true to TN like you?

Personally, I'd prefer to have the Bandwagoneers. They make my area more beautiful and are certainly helping with my local pollution problem (crimson). That said, I'll only have a brew with one if he buys. (Sucker.)

Anyways, I SAID IT'S GREAT......TO BE.....A TENNESSEE VOLLLLL....!!!!!!

Better hurry up and get on because THE bUTch Jones express is about to leave their ass!

;-)

"Bandwagon fan" is an oxymoron. You are either a fanatic full-time or you are not a fanatic at all; there is no in-between. These folks are posers.

3 "Gators"?

Can we please stop using the term? It's possibly offensive to some. Even if it's not, it's a 2nd-grade level diss and makes us look ignorant and childish.

Sigh....PC police....XE, HIRS and all that crap, those who may be offended need to get thicker skin.

I do agree that it is kind of sophomoric and does tend to portray us as a less than educated fan base..... Wait I'm on volnation.....J/K

I do not mind the bandwagon at all, as others have said, it means we are headed in the right direction.

I'm in this same area. Didn't expect anyone to be posting from this area. Especially since we are of the few that actually have internet way out here. :)

If you are only counting the fans that can read and write, the Vol vs bama population out here is probably pretty good. My brothers and I make up a total of 4 Vols, so that's probably about 40% of that population right there.

In the Nashville area I've noticed a huge difference in the amount of orange I've seen walking around. In the Dooley era you would only see the older fans still sporting orange. Now, it seems to be all over. It's good but annoying as well. I always wear my orange during the season, especially when we lose. That's when you see who the real fans are.

It took me 3 hours and 14 minutes to post this on my computer with dial-up.

Piss on them... If they can't have enough pride to wear the orange during the last days of Fulmer,Kiffin and the worst stretch when Doofus was here, then don't come around when CBJ is kicking ass... I loathe people like that, pick a team, buy those colors, put the sticker on your SUV, and be done. Don't be the kind that has to go to buy heat guns to get the stickers off every other year

Amen to that! Can't stand bandwagon fans.No loyalty whatsoever. Especially people that live in Tennessee. If they love Florida and Alabama so much, move there!
