It would be a huge win based on national pundits take on things. For the rabid UT fan who every year says next year I refuse to buy in so hard that it ruins my entire weekend if we lose but then is right back in come football time, I believe the loss would be devastating. The last time UT lost its opener ironically was 2008 which was Phil's last year. I'm sure both Jeremy and Phil know the absolute importance of getting this W no matter the wide path of non expectations from the national coverage crew.

This seems like a red herring. Other than Trey, which of our returning players from a 4-8 squad, who our own fanbase says have not been properly developed or coached up by the prior staff, had any good transfer options? I think the AD may straining for a silver lining. This season is going to suck and we'll probably lose some verbal commits before ESD. It is what it is. Maybe Gruden will be ready for us in 4-5 years?
