#BoycottNRA

My mantra has been consistent and simple:

1. Ban assault style weapons
2. Ban high capacity magazines
3. Ban bump stocks

Yes, you can make the argument, "oh there's this weapon or that weapon which could be used just as deadly as an assault style weapon." Well that just doesn't hold any water since the majority of these recent mass murders are being effectuated by AR15 style weapons.

This weapon has no rightful place for civilian use.

What's the difference?

What does the NRA have to do with school shootings? Is that the narrative? Attack the NRA although when has a member of the NRA shot anyone at a school?

The NRA is responsible for every gun death in America. They even killed the Easter Bunny and Santa’s reindeer for sport. Didn’t you get the memo?

GV you're just being disingenuous at this point. You know that this has been defined a 100 times on this board.

Assault weapon - Wikipedia

From your link:

The definition varies among regulating jurisdictions, but usually includes semi-automatic firearms with a detachable magazine and a pistol grip, and sometimes other features such as a vertical forward grip, flash suppressor or barrel shroud.

So, we can't even get multiple jurisdictions to agree on the definition.

But you want to ban them?

Those three points are rational and reasonable. I believe all 3 of those will be accomplished in the next year or so.

You will get all of the usual responses, but brighter minds will prevail. It's unfortunate that we couldn't lead and could only react to the voices of youth.

The youth of America are just shaking their heads in disgust and disbelief at what we have allowed.
They are shaking their heads in disbelief because they have always gotten their way. Nobody has ever told them no before.

How exactly is this going to happen?

1. The current involvement of youth will not only continue but grow.

2. It will be considered one of the big factors in the '18 landslide elections.

3. Politicians will realize that a hard line pro-gun stance is the surest way to defeat.

4. Democratic congress will put forth legislation.

5. Common sense (or self-preservation) will prevail.

For a long time the NRA has had the advantage politically because 1) all they have to do is resist all change, 2) the gun control advocates are too scattered and lacked a particular agenda of exact changes that they wanted, and 3) the gun control advocates have lost steam over time.

That's all changing. Many NRA supporters are now willing to listen. Substantial regulation of AR15 style weapons is now the central theme. And the momentum this time may not fade.

A lot of GOPers and Dems in pro gun states are going to face some difficult questions this November.

WTF are you talking about? "Allowed" isn't in the 2nd amendment.

The youth are shaking their heads because your side sucks at keeping a family unit and parenting.

Broken homes and "allowing" children to do and say whatever they want are the issue and its your side that has been the proponent in that situation.

How about y'all start taking responsibility for being so damn weak with your kids.

Quit throwing rocks at the school bus, it's not 1970.

You actually have had it before LG. It peaked in 1994 and you got the exact ban you wanted but it came with an expiration date. And it wasn’t renewed. Why is that you think?

Democratic congress will put forth legislation.

Hate to break it to you, but have you looked at the senate maps for ‘18 and ‘20? Democrats have little to no chance of retaking the senate in either year. But let’s say that somehow they pull off a miracle and retake the senate. How are they going to overcome a senate filibuster? How would they muster the votes to override a presidential veto?

1. There will be counter involvement by pro constitution youth.

2. Trump hate is the main factor.

3. If a person flips on what got them elected in the first place and swaps position, then they are fake anyway.

4. You know better because they would be voted out during the next cycle.

5. Your definition of common sense isn't common.

What about 4 rounds a second?

Too much?

Big jump from 999, so I like it. Still seems a little high. But as you may remember, I don't know much about it. How about we let some knowledgeable people from both sides sit down and reach a reasonable and rational compromise?

These dumbass kids are naïve enough at their age to believe that they can ban further sale of so called "assault weapons," and then they will be safe from harm. They are child like in their views, because they are children.

I wouldn't take advice from anyone who just started to school 10-12 years ago, especially in today's f****d up educational system. They don't know sh!t from tar at that age. Sorry.
