Did you not watch the video link you posted of Dana Loesch whining about the media? I wasted two minutes of my like watching that wimp.

She also whined about people yelling "burn her" when she left the stage. Now, I personally find that pretty offensive and the people who were yelling that are idiots. That being said, she was there defending people's 2A rights but she obviously didn't like people expressing the first amendment right to free speech. That's rich.

Did she say the words “burn her” should be reserved only for the military and police? Or that those words should be outlawed? You can not like speech. You just can’t support government punishment over it. Nice try though.

Are you being obtuse intentionally or are you just ignorant on the subject?

You can be pro gun and still realize that more could be done to keep weapons out of the hands of children and bad guys without jeopardizing your man card.

What is the gun show loophole?

The NRA is brutally effective. They don't give an inch. When 97% and 67% of the American people support universal background checks and an assault weapon ban, respectively, yet our legislators do nothing, what does that tell you? In our Republic, lobbying works.

The solution to this bottleneck lies in the power of the people. I've seen it first hand in the industry I worked in where state referendums circumvented our state level influence. People put the issues to vote during elections, and they overturned the system. We lost.

The NRA is the King Kong of 800 lb. gorillas. But even it is vulnerable. The internet and social media are game changers of democracy.

We'll see what happens though. People's attention spans are brief.

I'll support the boycott, and I hope to attend the DC rally in March.

I can't buy an assault weapon now without a freaking Tom of red tape, why ban then?

What does that have to do with an NRA Spokesperson blaming the media for everything? Stay on topic.

Do you find it hypocritical that CPAC is being held in a gun-free zone? I do.

I'd bet cash that there were guns inside and out of CPAC.

Apparently. I watched a video last night of a kid getting turned down for beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets - but walked into a gun show and bought a rifle. He was 13.

Here is the story.

Whether it was a one off or not - the point remains. More should be done at gun shows to protect against the lunatics (and kids) from acquiring them. By more I mean at least that which gun stores are required to do.

Was a private purchase, not a gun show sale. Facts much?

All this talk about banning "assault weapons" and the only results will be that the NRA will gain many new members and gunmakers will make a lot of money.

And there will be more assault weapons entered in circulation. It is a vicious cycle. Which is why I said in the mass shooting thread that banning AR-15s is not an option.

Conservatives shut down any hope of meaningful discourse if gun control is brought up. I get it, I've done the same on other issues. There are too many in circulation already, and short of nationwide confiscation of all guns (some 350 million that we know of currently), which is not an option and unconstitutional, it is best just to remove it from the discussion and discuss other ways to protect people. That way at least there can be a discussion.

I said all of this in the mass shooting thread, but this is the NRA thread. And that is a vile organization that seeks to divide so they can PROFIT.

Whys that good

The NRA prevented the fbi from investigating and the police from taking action on the 39 phone calls they got about this kid. The NRA also kept the police from going in the school and stopping the shooter.

What other options would you recommend?
