#BoycottNRA

You remind me of one of those people that stand 3 feet from a bison at Yellowstone and think it’s safe. You truly believe with enough laws and words free will can be constrained.

Here's Luther now....

I think his point was that all the shootings should be sensationalized. Maybe a nightly news release of the the gun violence totals for the past 24 hours.

Secondly, if Cali and San Fran didn't have strict laws, things would be even worse; and if all states had laws as strict as Cali's, things would be better.

Prove it.

Kinda interesting you making an absolute statement that things "would have been worse."

Care to back that statement up?

It's not as interesting as the absolute statement that gun laws "do not keep things from being even worse."

I think there are two absolute truths to which we can all agree.

1. No amount of gun law is going to stop all criminal use of guns.

2. If everyone was armed, there would still be criminal use of guns.

The goal is to reduce gun crime, it's an acknowledged fact that it will never be eliminated.

America would cease to exist without gun laws from sea to sea. Erbody wants to kill erbody. With a gun.

Thank God for our Lord and Savior. The United States government.

Based on those two premises the only logical conclusion is to arm the law abiding citizens at least as well as the criminals to insure an equal footing. It’s the only rational and reasonable conclusion one could reach.

It’s as stupid as drug laws.

Drug laws do not stop drug use. I would say whatever deterrent effect they’re suppose to have is slight as best.

Gun laws do not stop gun use. A moderately determined person will find a workaround or alternative.

Meanwhile we the law abiding suffer to placate the consciences of the fearful.

Yet you still advocate reducing the number of guns owned and operated by law abiding citizens. smh

Fewer guns on circulation mean that criminals will have fewer guns. C'mon man. Law abiding citizenry being disarmed is merely collateral damage.

Think of the children.

I advocate for reasonable and rational gun laws that reduce the number of guns making their way into the hands of people with criminal intent.

Dealer: "So you re buying this gun to murder innocent people?"

Buyer: "Yes"

Dealer: "Thank you for your honesty. No gun for you"

No fear ya'll, its fixed!

Just add a question to the 4473 asking if you plan to commit a crime with this gun.

Reminds me of that part in "Good Morning Vietnam" where Robin Williams is imitating the military intelligence guy about the enemy.

"Well, we ask people, 'Are you the enemy?' And whoever says yes, we shoot them."

It's just that you don't know what those laws are. Got it.

Sure I do:

Type: Any that fires more than x rounds per y seconds

Number: Can purchase no more than x guns per y months

Plus: Close all gun show, private and internet sales loopholes.

Fire rate is less important than you think. Fire rate is more about the experience level of the shooter than the type of weapon and most fully automatics are very difficult to use.

Why does the number of guns purchased matter? Are you afraid of some 8 armed attacker firing all his guns at once?

Those internet and gun show loopholes don’t exist. That’s why we can’t take you seriously, because you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

Drop the political catchphrases that mean nothing.

What precisely do you mean by that - outlaw all private sales, or require a private seller to run a background check on a person before selling a gun to them?

Regardless of which one you mean, how would you go about enforcing that? I can sell a gun to someone just as easily as I can sell them some football tickets or a TV.

A private seller would be required to run a background check and maybe submit some type of transfer of ownership form.
