I voted for Trump each time, and if I had to go back and vote again, I would still vote for him each time and wouldn't think twice about it. I definitely disagree with him here. As long as the government isn't subsidizing these networks then they can do what they want. They can make or lose as much money as they want, employ who they want. The market will decide, and the market decided on Kimmel long ago. Happy?

I can't believe we're this far into this thread and people don't know what the joke was. The setup was that the admin wanted to use CK's death to attack the left and didn't really care about him, which cued up this hilarious clip as proof that Trump DGAF.

I still don't get how the comments on political points "sets up" the gold fish comment.

not saying he is wrong, just saying I still don't see the joke with that part of it, or even a good segway. maybe there is some running JK joke that I am not aware that makes it make sense, but the general public isn't going to be aware of it.

if the goldfish comment is supposed to be the joke, thats fine as a standalone, but it does nothing to explain the previous comments.

Why is that part relevant? He got in trouble for the comment about the right's approach to Tyler Robinson which segues into the video. I don't know why I have to watch the whole monologue or why you're bringing other parts into it. The setup he got in trouble for was a lead into the video.

Trump threatening to revoke tv licenses if they dont agree with the way he acts or think negatively of him. He’s not even hiding his authoritarian fascism anymore and his bootlickers will continue licking his boots despite how obvious he’s making it now.

its relevant because for it to be the joke, you need the setup AND the actual punchline. he talks about the video afterwards.

you can't just dismiss the punchline part of the joke because its inconvenient.

even if it was just the construction bit it wouldn't explain why the set up had maga trying to figure out who to blame.

the funny part of the joke is that Kimmel does exactly what he's complaining about - he's trying to characterize the shooter as not one of his group and he's trying to score political points by including this in the set up.
