Boycott ABC, ESPN & All Disney Products and Properties

Nolte — Unity Achieved: MAGA Supports Democrat Boycott of Disney/ABC over Jimmy Kimmel Cancellation

View attachment 774601
Democrats want unity, and I think a work stoppage at Disney/ABC is something that can finally bring us together.

“Every major talent that works for ABC and Disney should refuse to show up for work until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated,” Marvel director Wajahat Ali wrote on X. “Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms. Collective boycott.”

MAGA endorses this 100 percent, Wajahat.

Let us lock arms and bury Disney/ABC/ESPN/Hulu.

God bless America.

Far-left activist Neera Tanden announced that she is canceling her Disney+ subscription.

Yes.

More, please.

The dismantling of the Disney Grooming Syndicate is 100 percent MAGA endorsed.

Friggin finally we start acting like a UNION... with UNITY... not two different nations.

What are you going to do when UT plays on ABC/ESPN? Watch Kimmel reruns on YouTube? It appears that you haven’t thought this through thoroughly.

Fair question.

Had to think about this at work today.

So, ultimately, I view a boycott as my refusal to *buy* a firm's products. Given that TN will eventually play a game televised on ESPN, I plan to watch at a bar. I get to watch the game and ESPN doesn't make a dime off me, nor do I count towards its viewership.

Honestly, I suspect this issue may flip-flop by the time this happens though. Disney is square in the crosshairs now.

Feels like cheating

That is like going over to your friends house and watching the Lion King on DVD without ever purchasing the film!

They are in a no win situation, show solidarity with one half of the country or the other?

I think the decision has been made, support a show that loses money, a dying genre on a withering platform. Back a guy that was gaslighting the consumers of an assassinated man for cheap scores, after he was warned he should stop. There was no humor in it, it was a political statement.

The FCC directed ABC to punish Jimmy Kimmel over his monologue Monday or else face retribution.

And now ABC suspended him.

Free speech remains a Constitutional right in this country, despite Trump's authoritarian efforts to squash it and the Judicial Branch. Kimmel's material broke no laws and is protected by the 1st Amendment. If you support this FTC mob action, then you oppose free speech. It's that simple.

Disney owns ABC, ESPN, Hulu and obviously a bunch of other stuff. Since Disney executives lack the spine to stand up to Trump's bullying, it's time to hit them in the pocketbook.

Given prior comments from many in the MAGA cult about Disney's "wokeness", this action should be received with open arms even by the ruby red right.

Here's a list of the companies, products and services to boycott:

BOYCOTT DISNEY
Fire the guy for good! FCC demands operators act in the public interest. Lying about a political assassination is NOT in the public interest. You are free to say most anything you want in this country. You will not be jailed for speech in the US as you would in the UK. You are responsible for what you say, and being fired for lying is not a new thing.

What “lie” did Kimmel make. Give me a direct quote please.

you say that because you align with Trump. if this was a Dem going after right wing types, you would not be accepting.

Already has happened under the Biden administration. Feds investigating over 70 conservative groups, including Turning Point USA. (Kirk's business)

Maybe Kimmel and Corolla can reunite and have some network begin airing new episodes of the "The Man Show".

I understand the power of the FCC. And I think that power is why the 'free spech / first admendment' talking points don't apply.

I don't align with trump. I am agree with the position of ETV...although I may not agree with his reasoning.

Yeah, don't venture into my realm of reasoning. You'll have PTSD if you do.

He’s overpaid and his ratings are most likely trash …, I don’t care enough to look. ABC heard from affiliates and saw an opportunity to dump him and took it

I am having fun. That is one of the two reasons I participate here.

There is a device in communication called a question. It's a very helpful tool. When you don't know something you can ask for clarity or more information. A question allows you to learn more about something you don't know about.

To be fair, I think the whole premise of your post is incorrect except for a couple of details.
Sometimes the information and clarity that you receive will drop your IQ 10 points

Meanwhile...

Trump spoke about the issue to reporters on Thursday aboard Air Force One while returning from a state visit to the UK.

"I have read someplace that the networks were 97% against me, again, 97% negative, and yet I won and easily, all seven swing states [in last year's election]," the president said.

"They give me only bad publicity, press. I mean, they're getting a licence. I would think maybe their licence should be taken away."

Yes. Please, PLEASE, please, pretty please do this and with gusto.
We conservatives would be HEARTBROKEN to see Disney go bankrupt. 😉

But I shouldn’t get my hopes up. Liberals are pretty toothless when it comes to “boycotts”. Ah yes, I remember when they threatened to destroy Chik-Fil-A. Now conservatives and Cracker Barrel on the other hand……we actually have the numbers and passion to force changes.

The “I thought the right didn’t believe in cancel culture!” is one of the most pathetically disingenuous arguments made on this board.

Both sides agree for the most part that there’s an Overton window of what is/is not acceptable. Both sides typically want employers to hold people in specific positions (teachers, journalists, etc) responsible if they do say something horrific. Like the people openly cheering the death of Charlie Kirk in their classroom.

What the right pushes back against is the use of standard right wing positions as a reason to cancel someone (Gina C at Disney for example) or the use of old tweets from several years ago (Florida QB who was rapping as a middle schooler and said the n word for example, or Kevin Hart)
