Boycott ABC, ESPN & All Disney Products and Properties

The FCC directed ABC to punish Jimmy Kimmel over his monologue Monday or else face retribution.

And now ABC suspended him.

Free speech remains a Constitutional right in this country, despite Trump's authoritarian efforts to squash it and the Judicial Branch. Kimmel's material broke no laws and is protected by the 1st Amendment. If you support this FTC mob action, then you oppose free speech. It's that simple.

Disney owns ABC, ESPN, Hulu and obviously a bunch of other stuff. Since Disney executives lack the spine to stand up to Trump's bullying, it's time to hit them in the pocketbook.

Given prior comments from many in the MAGA cult about Disney's "wokeness", this action should be received with open arms even by the ruby red right.

Here's a list of the companies, products and services to boycott:

BOYCOTT DISNEY
I agree with everything except for what I put in bold.

I understand the power of the FCC. And I think that power is why the 'free spech / first admendment' talking points don't apply.

I don't align with trump. I am agree with the position of ETV...although I may not agree with his reasoning.

Forget about the legal arguments here. To be 100% clear, if the FCC is making threats against ABC because they don't like what one of their hosts was going to say on his show, this is definitely a free speech issue. The First Amendment ensures protections, but nothing in the Constitution dictates what free speech actually is.

This is the most senseful thing I've ever heard you say...
Like for you!

Incorrect.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I cannot boycott. Gotta watch my teams.

If it helps, I will not go to the parks or watch their movies until my grandkid(s) wanna go.
I guess, in theory, if you had the time and money, you could go to every Tennessee game, even the road ones.

Citizens boycotting a product for political purposes is a healthy and democratic strategy within a capitalist society. Governments cracking down on dissent is not, and is authoritarian. I’ve never seen the first amendment as threatened as I have during this presidency.
The FCC was wrong.
Were you asleep during Covid?

I tend to agree with you but I haven't had the time to really look up what he said. If he openly advocated for violence or treason, I would say that is likely grounds for FCC to take action. However, that would be pretty extreme.

Ah, yes. Such a strong argument.
You didn't make an "argument" to refute. You shared thoughts. At least I didn't dismiss you by saying it was "silly". I know how you feel about that. ;)

Plus, this isn't a debate. It is a discussion.

I don't even know what you're saying "incorrect" to, but seems like you're just about playing games today.

I am having fun. That is one of the two reasons I participate here.

There is a device in communication called a question. It's a very helpful tool. When you don't know something you can ask for clarity or more information. A question allows you to learn more about something you don't know about.

To be fair, I think the whole premise of your post is incorrect except for a couple of details.

"The government pressured ABC—and ABC caved," wrote Ari Cohn of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression. "The timing of ABC's decision, on the heels of the FCC chairman's pledge to the network to 'do this the easy way or the hard way,' tells the whole story. Another media outlet withered under government pressure, ensuring that the administration will continue to extort and exact retribution on broadcasters and publishers who criticize it. We cannot be a country where late night talk show hosts serve at the pleasure of the president. But until institutions grow a backbone and learn to resist government pressure, that is the country we are."

No wonder you thought Kirk was doing a good job with his approach to public discourse.

Huff, objectively my ability to communicate or be in discourse with others is well-honed. Talking to others is what I do for a living.

I make mistakes. I pop off. I am not a robot. But I probably ask 1 question for every two or three statements I make.

McDad's comments about asking for clarification and learning via questions is a key part of public discourse - what's the beef with that?

You're witnessing this conversation and singling out one thing out of context to ask me this?

He was trolling, first of all.

Nolte — Unity Achieved: MAGA Supports Democrat Boycott of Disney/ABC over Jimmy Kimmel Cancellation

Democrats want unity, and I think a work stoppage at Disney/ABC is something that can finally bring us together.

“Every major talent that works for ABC and Disney should refuse to show up for work until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated,” Marvel director Wajahat Ali wrote on X. “Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms. Collective boycott.”

MAGA endorses this 100 percent, Wajahat.

Let us lock arms and bury Disney/ABC/ESPN/Hulu.

God bless America.

Far-left activist Neera Tanden announced that she is canceling her Disney+ subscription.

Yes.

More, please.

The dismantling of the Disney Grooming Syndicate is 100 percent MAGA endorsed.
