Boycott ABC, ESPN & All Disney Products and Properties

It's pretty simple, Disney could avoid that displeasure by coming out and saying the were directed by the FCC to suspend Kimmel. Wanna place a bet of them doing this?
Disney could and may do this... it's the easy way out. But given the actual content of the purported infraction contemplated, it would fall on its face in a sniff text.

No violation of FCC rules occurred. One could argue that Kimmel's comments were in poor taste, but could the FCC - legally - impose sanctions on ABC for this?

No way on God's green Earth.

so if they could impose no sanctions legally then Disney wasn't "forced" to do this by the FCC

The same interview where he said an apology would be a good start? I’m seeing nowhere where he said “they have to fire this man”.
The intent is obvious, but fine if you don't like the word "fire" change it to "punish".

Do you think people should be punished for free speech?

In an interview on The Benny Show podcast, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called Kimmel's comments "some of the sickest conduct possible" and part of a "concerted effort to lie to the American people." He warned that ABC and Disney could "find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead." Carr suggested potential FCC remedies, including pursuing news distortion claims against ABC affiliates, suspending Kimmel, or even revoking broadcast licenses if the network did not act. He framed this as enforcing broadcasters' "public interest" obligations under FCC rules.

This is complete BS that the FCC would put this pressure out there, and the right needs to stand up here and condemn this. Most will not of course, but they'd be screaming bloody murder if the shoe were on the other foot.

Can everybody stop pretending to be against cancel culture and accept the idea of being a vote with your dollars and attention non-Karen as their civic duty. It is completely OK to stop giving ABC your biz because they caved to government pressure. We want societal pressure to police government/corporate relationships.

You didn’t say the intent was obvious. You said he directly called for his firing. Seems you’re moving the goalposts.

Punished by is the important question. Your employer has always reserved the right to fire you for things you say. Especially things you say on the job.

Precisely. From a legal standpoint. But there's also the political standpoint.

I'm interested in hearing Disney's crowd control soon enough.

During all the left wing pressure campaigns against social media, your entire take “they’re private companies” when they would remove conservatives without any real reason.

Pretty sure you said the same thing about Gina Carano

I definitely disagree with the FCC chairs statement.

It is also completely OK to stop giving ABC your business if you think Kimmel was being a jackass - voting with dollars/attention isn't limited to pressuring gov/corporate relationships.

And we consumers reserve the right to no longer buy said employers products.

As for firing Kimmel, what's the position of the boss of FCC Chairman Carr?

Mhmmm...

SPOILER ALERT:

President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and other late-night hosts like Jimmy Fallon should be fired or have their shows canceled, framing it as a consequence of their low ratings, lack of talent, and financial losses for their networks. He celebrated the July 17, 2025, announcement that CBS would end The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in May 2026 and explicitly predicted or called for the axing of Kimmel's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC and Fallon's The Tonight Show on NBC.

so your premise is Disney is too dumb to know there was no legal jeopardy but was afraid of some vague "political standpoint" to the extent that they were forced to suspend Kimmel even though it will cause even worse problems for them from the likes of your and Huff's boycott calls.

yeah, that makes sense.

I have no objection to that. I’m objecting to your claims. Watch what you wish. I stopped watching Disney and all Star Wars stuff after Carano. Feel free to join me.

Feel free to join me in wanting the FCC gone as well. Maybe one day you’ll accept that these unelected officials have far too much power throughout the government

Yup.
That’s kinda how it works. The corporations have decided that dumb ****s glad that a murder happened won’t hurt their bottom line.

Are you referring to Kimmel? Your narrative doesn't fit the facts.

Kimmel’s comments directly after the assassination, however, were of a different temperature.

“Welcome, thank you for joining us here in Los Angeles, the second largest city in our bitterly divided nation where, like the rest of the country, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the senseless murder of the popular podcaster and conservative activist Charlie Kirk yesterday, whose death has amplified our anger, our differences,” Kimmel said to open Thursday’s show. “I’ve seen a lot of extraordinarily vile responses to this from both sides of the political spectrum. Some people are cheering this, which is something I won’t ever understand. We had another school shooting yesterday in Colorado, the 100th one of the year, and with all these terrible things happening, you would think that our president would at least make an attempt to bring us together. But he didn’t. President Obama did. President Biden did. Presidents Bush and Clinton did. President Trump did not. Instead, he blamed Democrats for their rhetoric.”

The only people upset are those glad Kirk was murdered. JK was highly paid and his ratings were trash. He said something stupid and the people concerned about the bottom line took the opportunity to get him out. They’re betting that the canning the guy with bad ratings won’t cost them anything because the people upset by it won’t amount to a fraction of the savings.

That’s how it works. You can try to prove them wrong
I wish you the best of luck with it

The FCC directed ABC to punish Jimmy Kimmel over his monologue Monday or else face retribution.

And now ABC suspended him.

Free speech remains a Constitutional right in this country, despite Trump's authoritarian efforts to squash it and the Judicial Branch. Kimmel's material broke no laws and is protected by the 1st Amendment. If you support this FTC mob action, then you oppose free speech. It's that simple.

Disney owns ABC, ESPN, Hulu and obviously a bunch of other stuff. Since Disney executives lack the spine to stand up to Trump's bullying, it's time to hit them in the pocketbook.

Given prior comments from many in the MAGA cult about Disney's "wokeness", this action should be received with open arms even by the ruby red right.

Here's a list of the companies, products and services to boycott:
