I like both about the same what about you?

People say boxing is less strategic than the UFC, but here lately the UFC has straight up sucked. They hardly ever stand up and fight anymore its just get in close with some punches, get a takedown & try to win with elbows.

Forest Griffin and Rampage Jackson are the only reasons I still care about watching UFC.

Unfortunately boxing doesnt have any big fights left, Mayweather-Cotto? and that probaly wont happen.

There is nothing better than a good Heavyweight boxing title fight.

The problem with UFC, from a marketing and advertising stand point, is that it spreads its self way to thin. There is no "Big Time" matches. Those videos they have what are they on like #60 or something. You can also see this stuff on FSN at 3 am most nights.

No UFC bout will ever get the press and attention that a big time heavyweight match will get, ever.

whatever dude.....up until Randy Cotour retired every match he was in was huge....Randy vs. Liddell 1-3 was all major event's.....Tito-Liddel....Rampage-Liddell anything Matt Hughes fought in was a major league event....Randy vs. Silva was another major bout.....I agree the last few have been lame but, thats because the headliners either just retired or they are nursing the pounding they took in the previous months....UFC rocks man, boxing imo is lame...

actually the UFC pay-per-views have all outperformed boxing pay-per-views except for the Mayweather/De La Hoya fight.

I like UFC better. It's more street fighting, plus good stand-up guys (boxers) usually get taken to the ground and beaten in the UFC.

Only thing I would like better is if they got rid of the cage and met in a school parking lot.......and no rounds.....and the fights over when someone starts running.

The two sports are moving in opposite directions.

Boxing has been downhill for years now...and, until a few good American heavyweights emerge, it will continue on a downward slope.

UFC, on the other hand, has tons of momentum, and a roster full of young, talented, charismatic fighters that continues to get more competitive in each weight class.

I like MMA for a multitude of reasons...the biggest gripe I have with boxing is all the divisions and the federation alphabet soup titles. WBA, WBO, IBF, NABF, WBI, IBC.......on and on.

But just straight up personal opinion. UFC has too much of a WWE/ WWF feel to it. I like the aristocratic feel of Las Vegas boxing. That's just me though, Kemo Sabe has a little style.

The stat's don't back you up. The UFC has outperformed Boxing in all their ppv except for their Mayweather/De La Hoya match. That includes all the heavyweight matches.

If there were two boxers such as a modern day Tyson and a modern day Holifield and that thing got hyped up like those two guys matches used to it would out do the Liddel vs. Ortiz fight. Which was the biggest money maker in UFC, if my memory serves me correct.

Right now the Heavyweight is slim pickin's, who do you have that big Russian guy and that's about it. I'm not saying UFC isn't a money maker I'm just saying if they made their product a little more premium they might make more money.

MMA is wack. I have little interest in seeing 2 tattoed men beat the hell out of each other which rarely happens anymore because they are either trying to bend there arm behind there back or choke them out.

Give me 2 guys willing to go toe to toe and I'm all for it which is what you ALWAYS get in boxing...without boxing there wouldn't even be MMA...

I could give 2 sh*ts if a guy can choke a guy out with his legs or take his arm and bend it behind his back...

Oklavol, buddy, your missing my whole point. It's about the bottom line. While UFC is putting on 6-7 events in that two year span and spending money on that and also on the Spike TV stuff, Boxing gets ready for 2 events.

Those two events blew anything UFC has done out of the water by a 900,000 PPV buys clip.

Now you're telling me if two heavyweights like Tyson and Holyfield came around again that boxing once again wouldn't blow UFC out of the water in that given year?

Boxing has the highest revenue for a single event, but for the year UFC has done better. UFC has more interest in general from the public, except for a few marquee boxers who can generate a large ppv for boxing.

Do you even understand what I'm trying to say at all?

your saying its all about the bottom line.......and the bottom line is.........UFC makes more money in a year.

The fact UFC puts on more events is irrelevant. Boxing has HBO, UFC has spike TV.

I'm trying to say on a single event Boxing would make UFC look like chumps.

I'm also saying if UFC pulled up and made their product a little more premium they would make more money.

UFC will continue making bigger revenues each year until the right mix of boxers come around. From my first post I said a big time heavyweight match would put any UFC match to shame. Would you agree with that? Yes or No?

Explain to me your though process here.

Pretty simple.

No one is telling boxing to put on fewer events. It's openm they can put on as many events as they can schedule. So can the UFC.

The UFC puts on more events because they are better organized, have plenty of fighters, and have found a demand for them.

To me it's just indication of the popularity of the sport. They can put on more events, because they have more fighters and plenty of interest from the public.

But you said that they have more events and its irrelavent but the reason they are making more money is because they have more events, thus making the number of events releavent.
