Bowl Ticket Prices

I call it price gouging, but no matter, Shirley and I can't go anyway. And the more I think about it, the more I like being at home eating food I really like, drinking what I actually want to drink, comfortable seating, and a giant projection screen to view the game. I fear current and emerging technology will hasten these corporate greed-mongers into pricing themselves out of the live attendance market. Pushed just as much by the increasing discourtesy and outright anti-social behavior of the public.

Possible solutions?
1. Provide comfortable seating at venues that disallows bipedal whales squeezing you out of your paid seat
2. Do a proper study of local and traveling attendees' demographic composition and price tickets and accommodations accordingly
3. Do post event follow-up studies/surveys of fan attendance to gauge what if any modifications are needed to encourage repeat/future attendees/customers
4. Monitor if possible the best practices of similar events and venues to copy and/or modify for your own
5. If not already being done, make local-focused live and animation avatar commercials featuring teams, schools, and fans that entice attending
6. Work with airlines, charter air services, charter buses, along the way eateries, rest stop lobbies or areas, etc exclusive to verified attendees

But then again, I probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I just happen to be loaded with wild and crazy ideas, being a guy who presumes to think outside the box and even outside the floor or ground the box is on. Matter-of-fact, I'd be the first to tell you to:

Your Tennessee Titans already accomplish items 1-4 & 6. We'll think about # 5. And, stop calling us Shirley.

Those are resale tickets and have to read listing. You can also find regular tickets for sale that don't include parking.

Sorry, wrong tree, Jaxie. I'm a Packer fan, not a Titan fan. And I was actually talking about college bowl games. Come now, Shirley you know that.

I'm not going to the game no matter the price of tickets but why are they so expensive? Is it to make up for not having a game last year? Is it pure greed?
It's much easier for me to watch any bowl game from my recliner.

All I know is bowl prices are comparable to Titan prices. I dropped my annual tickets to MCB and Sports Council membership years ago.

You are looking at club seats with specific benefits, there are cheaper club seats on the outer 2 sections. The lower level seats cost less depending on the section. Then the upper level sections are lower depending on how close and the section.

Tickets in nosebleed were $36 before the announcemenet. Immediately after they went to $150.

I could afford them but I don't participate in price gouging so I'll stay warm and watch it on my 70 inch.

Purdue selling for 120. How? UT not doing that for their Tennessee Fund donors.

Spoke with The Fund about this and they directed me to Music City Bowl where prices were just too high for this bowl. This isn't the Sugar Bowl.

You would think we were playing in the championship for the prices they are asking. Hope Tennessee takes note and refuses to go back there in the future.

So sorry you had this experience. I look at the ticketmaster map and don't look at resale tickets unless close to game and prices are going down for resale tickets.

A UTAD rep told me UT got around 2500 tickets total. Out of that allotment comes tickets for players/coaches families, university administration and band. He said there only tickets for the top 500 donors by points.

Has anyone been successful in getting tickets through Perdue? I've seen only posts here that all their allotment went to their donors/season ticket holders.

So something is strange now on the Ticketmaster bowl site... All the red seats that were resale seats have been removed and now alot of seats that were blue yesterday are gone, and i mean thousands of them. I think Ticketmaster is trying to make it look close to a sellout to make fans think they better buy now. No way they sold all those in last 12 hours. Especially at those prices. I legit hate Ticketmaster. This seems incredibly sketchy.

The Ticketmaster variable prices for the new "blue" seats are now higher than the resale tickets. Ticketmaster has an interest in selling more of the "new" seats at the moment. They have simply moved the "resale" tickets over to another platform to continue selling them as well. Sketchy doesn't come close to describing how Ticketmaster has been operating for this game.

As soon as match up was official I went to bowl web site to purchase tickets. The link for purchase tickets took me to ticketmaster.com where I selected two lower level end zone seat for $145.00 plus taxes and fees each.
I entered my CC number and hit purchase tickets. The transaction timed out after about 5 mins and told me to try again. I went and selected the EXACT same 2 seats and they were now $155.00 each plus taxes and fees. Guess what? Timed out again and repeated the process and the exact same two seats are now $170.00 each plus taxes and fees. I refused to pay that and didn't proceed. Tickets in that same section (124) and row (H) are $190.00 each plus taxes and fees right now on ticketmaster.com. All of the prices mentioned were for tickets from the box office not tickets being resold by individuals.

2016 MCB I walked up to the Nissan Stadium ticket booth the Monday morning after the bowl announcement and paid a flat $25/ticket for uppers. 5 years later those same seats are more than double after fees. No thanks.

You're not going, never planned on going, so you caring one way or the other is kinda silly.
I don't have to go. I can sit in my recliner and save my money. The money I save by not going will buy a lot of groceries. Things I actually NEED.
