A&M went to the Gator bowl last year.
At least the Gator bowl means its the spotlight game instead of fighting for tv time on Jan 1 (and we don't have flip channels ourselves)

Just glad we bowling! Care less who we play or where. We will travel and truly believe our team will show up with attitude and give their all to finish this season on a high note. Go Vols!

Secondly, I am glad the seniors and team don't have your mentality. If so, they don't even make a bowl game and probably go 1-11. UT is capable of playing a very good team including Michigan and winning, especially with Pruitt, Chaney, and Ansley having 4 weeks to scheme!!!

What very good team has this Tennessee team beaten? They have only beaten middle tier teams, and several players made dumb mistake after stupid mistake, which nearly cost those wins. Can they beat a top ten team? They have not earned the opportunity.

As much as I want to see UT in a bowl game playing Indiana just doesn't move the meter. Although, I did go to the Peach Bowl after the '87 season where UT played Indiana.
My parents went to that game and left me and my brother at home. All we got was a t-shirt. 😡

Latest bowl projections from 247:

Think there's a shot at us going to the Outback Bowl as well since we're 7-5 and most of the projections have 7-5 Texas A&M going. Both our fanbase and A&M travel well, so either could get picked.

Here's the final SEC finishing order, for reference:

1. LSU 12-0
2. Georgia 11-1
3t. Alabama 10-2
3t. Florida 10-2
5. Auburn 9-3
6t. Tennessee 7-5
6t. Texas A&M 7-5
6t. Kentucky 7-5

9t. Miss State 6-6
9t. Mizzou 6-6 (not eligible)
11t. South Carolina 4-8
11t. Ole Miss 4-8
13. Vanderbilt 3-9
14. Arkansas 2-10

So basically, it's going to be us, A&M, and Kentucky in contention for the same bowls and the better bowls will never pick Kentucky over UT or A&M.

While we are tied at #6 with overall record, our SEC record is 5-3, with A&M at 4-4 and KY at 3-5, so that should put us above them in SEC view.

Add to the fact we are on a winning streak and playing better and the aggies have stumbled down the stretch and haven't looked good in losing. GBO!

I want to play Michigan. Big name program, ranked, another disappointing season and coming off a shellacking to OSU. And Harbaugh is 1-3 in bowl games there. But I haven't seen any projections having us play them.

I don't want to play Indiana. Who cares about them? We'd probably win, but again who cares.

I'd prefer Minnesota over Iowa. They're ranked higher, not as good, and limping a bit and hopefully dissapointed not to have made the B1G Championship.

If for some reason we slip out of one of the Florida bowls, I guess I'd take a Liberty Bowl match-up with Texas (haven't seen them projected there) or a Belk Bowl against Virginia Tech

UH OH!! I see the Texas Bowl has the opportunity to match up-------TEXAS --TEXAS A&M! They will foaming at the mouth!! DONE DEAL!

That same opportunity happened in 2014 also. And either Texas, the SEC offices, or Texas A&M balked on it happening.

A&M refuses to play Texas, I really hate that A&M is in our conference. They haven't contributed anything, they b!tch about everything and they're to chicken sh!t to play Texas. Oh and Jimbo is a fraud

Yeah, since the SEC basically gets to pick who goes where for the mid-tier bowls, all that needs to happen to torpedo the whole thing is for A&M to tell the SEC office that they don't wanna do it. That having been said, there has been talk of them scheduling Texas recently, so maybe that relationship is thawing a bit with time. And if so, perhaps a neutral-site bowl game is the perfect opportunity for the two programs to meet up again.

Probably not for a middling Texas Bowl though
