Bowl game vs. Nebraska!!

Not at all. I'd like to see UT's program get all the way back to SEC "Big 6" level competitiveness.

I always pull for SEC teams when they play OOC games and bowl games.

A strong SEC perception benefits the entire conference -- helps recruiting, rankings, revenues, helps SEC teams get into playoffs, etc.

I dont, screw em all. Go Vols!

They'll be a tougher out than many think. Bama will have to play very well to win.

I think they will be to. Alabama certainly has the team to win. It will take a bad game by Hurts and UW will have to play pretty good to have a shot. They have some speed, talent and should be able to put up points. But I still think Alabama will win.

But in reality, I hope they dont, sorry.

Much will depend on if we can find any big bodies to play DT to try to clog the middle.

It's almost impossible to Win with no DT's.

In spite of that I think Dobbs and our O will outscore them and bring home the WIN!

VFL...GBO!!!

I was thinking about sitting this bowl game out. Then I started thinking bling that this was Dobbs' last game as a Vol. Love him or not, he gave his all and is a true VFL. Made me a little sad to think it was his last game and what he meant to the Vols. We all need to be there to send him and the rest of our Srs and NFL-bound Jrs off with a fan base to remember.

I look for Dobbs to show out in his last game as a Vol. It will be a hard fought game but we pull it out in the end.

We started 5-0?
Yes we did and I was happy with the wins. Personally, I just didn't think the wins showed the potential of the momentum I was referring to when we finished the bowl game last season. We definitely struggled 2 of those five and won by a bounce of the ball (single game changer plays). I'm all for going into the MCB and destroying the Huskers. I was just saying that doing so doesn't necessarily translate into momentum that predicts greatness the following season. I truely hope it happens. This season's follow up performance has tempered my expectations; if I'm going to go from a bowl performance. :good!:

Lol, if we win it will be said that time heals all wounds, if we lose it will be said the long layoff affected the kids. Hope we win out and head into recruiting on a high note. GBO.

If we at least break even on Turnovers and don't go overboard on penalties, I think we win by 10+.

We are better team and they are losing some key cogs (best CB, best WR & starting QB?). We should get some players back (Wiesman for sure, Jack Jones I think). But Boulware and Hall are out.

Also our defense has had a chance to stiffen up a bit and correct some of the more easily fixable deficiencies. Might see Alexis Johnson Vol debut as well.

Why would we expect a for sure win against a good team? This is why we get so let down. Nebraska was a top 10 team. They would beat Vandy and usc. We need to play good and expect a fight. We are not so superior. That's why we lost 2 games we shouldn't have.

Vols & Huskers are both different teams going into the MCB than they were during the season. I haven't made a list of regular season starters who were injured and should be back, or those out for the bowl game for various reasons like surgery or academics. But if both teams bring their A-Game attitude, this game is going to be a doozie.

I think the Vols will win handily, what do y'all think?

"100% of our Players have never gone this long without a win before a college bowl game, which makes this team very young in that regard."

I do believe we'll win, but then again I never expected to barely beat-out App State.

Did anyone tell them they are playing Tennessee, the team that got big boyed by Vandy the last time they played?

In all seriousness, Dobbs should have a good game and get the win for the good guys. Would love to see Barnett get the sack record in front of home town crowd.

I definitely think if the players are really motivated that we could beat their a$$ by 17+..Just not sure how our run D will match up with their rushing O..but with possibly little threat of them taking advantage of our secondary we can make them one dimensional and stack the box. But watching Vandy struggle to move the ball on NC ST.unlike how they did against us then we may have to outscore them. But hopefully with a month to prepare that won't be an issue on Fri.

I have heard several players mention that "they wanted to be there." Is that concerning to anyone? Almost like they are trying to convince themselves? I know their are alot of guys where you no it's true and never doubt it ,Barnett, Dobbs, Kamara, Jennings etc, but if even a few key players are disinterested it could have an effect.
