Then why didn't you word the poll that way? Given how the poll was worded you won't get an answer as to whether they're deserving.

I don't think they're deserving but I do want them to accept a bid. It'll give our players, particularly our QBs more experience and it's another 3 hrs of entertainment for me
Aside from the fact that we disagree on accepting a bowl, I have to ask what your definition of “entertainment” is. Unless one likes root canals, I see nothing entertaining about what we have been subjected to.

No. 3-7 is embarrassing enough. No need to make it 3-8. The extra practice is not likely to help much when so many players would opt out of the bowl game anyway. Also, what bowl would want us? The Weedwhacker Bowl in Shreveport? They should sit this one out.

Agree. Plus I think a lot of these kids want to get back to some semblance of a normal life during the pandemic. Idk how many follow the rules but all college coaches ask their players to stay as isolated as possible during the season. I can’t imagine how difficult that would be, even if most of their friends are on the team.

I'm a resident of Cincinnati. I have a lot of experience watching losing. I must admit I'm no longer watching the Bengals but I watched every minute while Joe Burrow was upright even though they still sucked. I think our Vols can win a Bowl game.

I would say I am shocked to see so many saying no but alas, I am not. All season long we moan and complain and when we are handed an opportunity to get in free practices and another game of experience for younger players to gain experience many of you do not want it. Other fan bases say our fans will complain and whine about anything and it appears they are correct.

I would take a private poll of the players with no pressure. Let them vote anonymously. A lot of these guys would like to go home I've heard. Being tested twice a week has to get old in a losing season. It's easy to be up and ready to play when you are winning. Losing and a lot of negativity in the program. Let the players decide.
I voted no.
If we lose 8 we tie the 4 & 8 2016 season except 3 & 8.
We do not deserve a Bowl.

Birmingham Bowl would be good. Guess that’s the selfish in me. I would drive the 30 minutes for cheap ticket to watch it.

Poll: Should we accept a Bowl bid?

Just curious how many people think this team deserves a bowl after this seasons results?
Your poll asks one question.

Your post asks a different question.

Which are you hoping people answer? The "should we accept" question, or the "do we deserve" question?

Because my answer is 'yes' to one of those, and 'no' to the other.

Definately, it always helps your team practicing getting ready for the bowl game. Would help the young guys for next season.

Penn St players voted to go home and see their loved ones at Christmas. They won 4 in a row. It’s been a long 3 mos it’s time for our kids to go home.

Of course, we don't "deserve" a bowl. When I was a kid, there were 9 bowl games: the big 4 and 5 lesser ones. It meant something to make a bowl game. The last several years, I've had to adjust my view of bowl games. My new attitude is that it's merely an as-yet unscheduled game at the end of the year that you can lose out on with a stinky season. So, with that in mind: I say take the game, because getting the young guys one more game (especially Bailey and the young wideouts) is a big deal.

Do we have to??

I understand now, so we do disagree....kind of. I simply think that the decision should be a team decision not a fan decision. If the team wants to play, UT should accept it IMO.
It is a league decision--SEC brand is certainly not having teams opt out--SEC led NCAAF to have a season--SEC i ESPN?ABC biggest sports partner
Not leaving bowls hanging by not having teams and they should not

Whether or not a team deserves a bowl game has got to be the dumbest thing there is about sports.

The league can't force a team to play. I hope UT plays, but they could absolutely opt out.

Nope time for a little revenge on WV.

They are 5-4 but have bad losses to IowaSt and Texas Tech.

They are somewhere between SCAR and Vandy talent.
