So Auburn has better odds of winning the West but Ole Miss and A&M have a better shot at winning the SEC. Makes a lot of sense to me. Makes just about as much sense as the SEC media members picking Alabama to win the West but Auburn to win the SEC last year. Some of these oddsmakers and "prediction experts" are ridiculous.

You are correct, I racked my brain until I just gave up last year trying to figure that one out.

Media members voted and selected Auburn to win the SEC championship with 96 votes compared to Alabama's 80, but the Tigers picked up less aggregate points in the divisional voting, with Alabama edging Auburn 1,405-1,362 in the SEC West.

Auburn picked up 108 of 225 possible votes to win the SEC West. Alabama had 92 votes, but the Tigers had a wider range of appearances on voters' ballots.

So basically Auburn appeared lower in the SEC West than Bama did(and more often than they did) in picking the order of the West, but received more overall SEC championship votes.
