I think CLK was referring to Spurier style shuffling QB's in and out during a single game, saying this would not allow the QB to get into a game rythm.
I don't think he meant that if the orignial starter played horrible he wasn't willing to pull them in favor of the back up?
Thus, what CLK meant was that he would not go into a game planning on playing two QBs. But he never said he was against pulling the starter in favor of the back up if the starter sucked.
And like a few others, you're saying that Kiffin will be so selective as to tell a 5* QB who is already committed and would provide much needed depth for 2009 & 2010...to just "BEAT IT KID, we'll find a BETTER FIT next class"...and now all of a sudden, he's so desperate from one guy transferring out that he's going to abandon his own standards and just bring in a warm body? That's true, and I just stated what the reason is.

Yeah, makes perfect sense. Just because there is a pressing need doesn't mean he has to go out an pick up the first "fat chick" he sees...not after you just kicked Jessica Simpson to curb.![]()
Kiffin said that he would stick with the starting QB for the season. There's a reason that these guys were so bad last year and it wasn't necessarily the offensive scheme either. These guys were terrified that if they didn't do well they would be yanked one for the other. It's not happening this year because unless they understand how to overcome adversity, they will never amount to anything as a QB.
Kiffin never said he would stick with a QB for the season. He said that he would like to have one guy take hold of the job and run with it without having to look over his shoulder if he messes up.
I am sure Kiffin is more than willing to replace a QB who can't get the job done hopefully sooner than it took Fulmer last year to make that decision.
I want a marquee QB as much as anyone, and I'm not predicting Lamaison to be one, but I've seen enough to be optimistic. I think a redshirt this year is a likelihood, and we'll have a better idea in the spring where he is. He'll get plenty of work as it will just be him and Stephens.Give Lamaison 1 to 2 years to acclimate to SEC play and he'll do OK. He's not a world beater by any means though. He will be a career backup, IMO.
Negative. Boyd was a 5* all the way and was the Co-MVP (along with Bryce Brown) in the Army All American Bowl. Please...it's one thing to state something you're not certain of, and be corrected. It's another to try and correct someone when it's you who has the wrong information.Boyd, if that's who you are talking about was a 4*. Also BJ transferred after spring practice. Lamaison is worth a scholly for the simple fact it gives them a competent QB to run scout team.

Right...just because you may or may not like them, doesn't make them any less legit. Sounds like a lot of backpedaling on your part...trying to ease that foot stuck in your mouth. Want some butter to help with that?Boom... Roasted. Scout is not respected for football recruiting. Try again smart guy.

And just where are you getting your information, anyway? Please divulge where you heard Kiffin stated Lamaison was brought here just to run the scout squad. That's usually what you have walk-on's do.

So, when you get busted for giving out false information, and trying to correct folks with that bad information, you can just summarily discount which source you want? Why not say "If I remember correctly, Rivals didn't give him a 5*"...?
Boyd was also on ESPN's top 150...ranked 58 overall...Smart guy
Just figured I would bump this thread at this point in the season.![]()
