Both QBs will play

That's exactly what he said he was going to do.

Could you please show me where he said no matter what the starter of WKU is going to be all season long? Neyland Law Vol's quote is the only one I can ever remember Kiffin addressing switching Qb's.

I can't believe that if Crompton comes out and sputters and makes clear QB mistakes (not blocking/bad routes) and we are 2-2 going into the Auburn game he won't consider playing NS if he is blowing it up in practice. I think he WANTS to play one QB all season but that doesn't mean that if it's obvious a change is needed he won't make it.

I would have to disagree with your first point. If you are going to be willing to yank a guy in favor of another, it needs to be the guy who is playing better, otherwise you keep the other guy in. You don't yank Crompton for Stephens just because we are having a bad season and you want to get him experience. Put him in when the game isn't on the line if you want to get him game time. You start playing the second best players over the first, first off it's a stupid idea because you want to give your team the best chance to win, but you also send a message to the rest of the team that it really doesn't matter if you are out-playing your teammate, it's all about what class you're in. That's a real quick way to lose a team.

I agree with your second assessment though. Our QBs are simply not good.

At that point your senior qb has already proven he can't play better.

You aren't giving up on the team. You are giving another guy a shot to see if he can do better. It happens at every position.

When I was a fresh. in high school I was on varsity. We weren't playing very good and out JR. qb was average. They started me mid way through the season and I played about the same and we made the play-offs playing .500 ball.

They gave me a shot because there was nothing to lose and I was the QB of the future and it was a no lose situation.

If this team, Crompton and the offense is struggling how is it giving up on your team to give the ball to the guy who will likely be your starter next year and see what happens? You have nothing to lose.

Carsom Palmer was 3-2 in 2002 and they won 11 games that year for USC. No one can predict when the lightswitch comes on for these guys.

Your comparing apples to oranges with HS Football to D-1 SEC Football.

I think you will see both in the WKU game.. I think he will determine which one is best in that game and they will be the starter for least the next couple of games if they don't fall off the deep end for some reason or get injured..

I don't think you do that. I disagree totally with that philosophy. If you aren't winning games and the other QB is just as good, you may do that, but if he's the best guy -- consistently out-performing the other in practice, you don't yank him. Especially if he's a leader and someone the team rallies around.

I can tell you that 100% will not happen.

Then we disagree. Do you really think the team is going to rally around a guy that for the second year in a row is terrible and getting you beat?

What has Crompton done in the past that indicates there is a light?

One pass to Robert Meachem?

Comparing Crompton to Palmer who was a three-year starter going into his senior year isn't apples to oranges???

Which part? They both won't play or the best player will fall off the deep end...:eek:lol:

No worries.. We can just put Coleman in..Oh no we can't do that.. he at UTC for a year and then on to Duke..

I really do think you will see bith of them in the game though..I think Kiff will want to se how they react under pressure...

What about the guy that's a great practice player but is not a good game day player?

Teammates are not going to rally around someone is consistantly playing bad.

And they are magically going to rally around someone because they haven't played yet?? Didn't work with Stephens last year, did it??

I wonder if they would bring in Lamaison midseason once he knows the play book or redshirt him so he doesn't lose a year of elgilbility. last year at sac he had 36 tds and only 8 ints while throwing for all most 3500 yrds. He's better then those 2

Right now he isn't better.

We aren't going to agree on this one. IMO....If a player consistantly performs poorly on the field, give the next guy a try to step up & perform.

If we are 2-5 heading into the South Carolina game, you better believe Kiffin will be changing QBs. You can say what you want about team buliding, character, having your back, etc... but Kiffin was brought here to win and that is exactly what he plans to do.

If we are 2-5, we have MUCH worse problems than the starting QB.
