Good luck Jones. Though I don't get following Locksley. He's a TERRIBLE HC. Maybe positioning to take over Maryland in a few years? Would be a decent spot for him, though I think he would really excel in the B1G. His offense is best against a slow defensive conference. He could whip the B1G pretty well.

Kiffin had all the talent in the world. Dooley inherited a great qb and took over an established offense and barely even tweaked it. If Dooley can truly run that offense on his own, then we should be hiring him. After 1 year, I'm not convinced of that.

Maryland plays in a tougher division than Tennessee. They have OSU, Michigan, Penn St, and Michigan St every year. Butch is a more accomplished coach than Locksley though

Terrible HC at New Mexico.... To say he is the same coach is absurd. Sure he was an idiot there, but he's got a heck of resume since being let go there. He's also a Maryland guy so the fan base is going to be behind him right away. He isn't a slouch in recruiting either.

Being in DC, I think he is a great hire.... I know a lot of the high school programs are ecstatic about it.

I do question him taking Butch to be TE Coach lol

I say the division is a wash. UM and PSU are prolly a bit better than FLA and MIZ, but UGA is better than OSU... after those three schools, the division really falls off in that Big10 division.... There isn't a major drop off from the 3-4 best teams in the SEC East to the other 3-4

It's the price that you pay for "committing" to a coach long term and then deciding you want him gone before that "commitment" is complete.

I think he might be serviceable for the Twerps. But, I don't think scheming and game planning are Butch's strong suit. He's good at marketing and recruiting. One of those will be valuable to them.
As far as managing a game, we got a front row seat to that disaster. Now, if he stays up in the booth and has one focus? Maybe he does it.

Pruitt hasn't done much better actually. We're still getting boatraced by Vandy. Until he does do much better...the jury is out on how much of this is on Butch.

Probably right and Tennessee has to play Alabama every year so that’s a tougher game cross division game than Maryland plays. Nevertheless it’s not an easy road for Maryland since they moved to the Big TEN
