I know we want the running game fixed, but why do we want every freshman to come in and start? Seems we would really want Neal and Lane to break out.

i totally forgot about tom smith. any news from him lately? been out of the loop for a few months. did he have a good spring?

I liked what I saw of him running hard in the O&W game, like few of our rbs in recent yrs other than Hardesty. I hope CJG gets all of our guys doing that.

He doesn't even arrive on campus until the second summer session. I don't ever look for freshmen to start on day 1. If they do it is a bonus or as a last resort like the last 3 seasons.

As much as we throw the ball would have to get the blocking scheme down to get a lot of playing time.

I agree. We can't tolerate too many busted protects. I am hoping TS will work hard, do all they ask him to do, and be ready when his chance comes.

Marlin Lane is a very talented player. His injuries, and poor blocking and questionable coaching slowed him down last year. btw, his Freshman year. He showed some flashes last year. He is a good receiver who can get yards after catch. If he can stay healthy, I look for him to have a very solid year. I don't believe Bourque as a late arriving Freshman is going to unseat Lane or Neal the first part of the year.

Does davantae borque become our starting tailback from day one when he finally gets here in july and is he a four year starter and will he be a contender for the hiseman in the future.

Marlin Lane might have something to say about that. I think D.B. Is really good, but I don't know about day 1 starter good. Guess we will see in about 95 days or so.

6'3", 200lb is bigger than Lane right now........needs to add weight??

I thought Lane was like 210? And a couple inches shorter. Which would make Borque quite a bit skinnier than Lane. Not that he won't get carries this year. I just didn't think he was bigger than Lane.
