Borderlands 2

GameStop is offering $40 for this game. I may trade it in and get forza horizon.

I love the game but this may be a reason to let it go. I gotta pay off BO2.

I beat the story last night. I was only a level 30 but had one of my friends (37) help me out. Gonna start doing the side quests to rank up some more and then start on the second play through.

Downloaded new expansion this morning, "Captain Scarlett and the Pirate's Booty"

it's been fun, and the good news is that Gearbox wisely included fast travel stations (something they didn't do with Borderlands 1 expansions like "The Secret Armory of General Knox" or the Claptrap revolution DLC)

It's frighteningly easy playing in normal mode with my level 42 assassin (DLC is leveled at 30 or 31), however, but I needed to level him up some more because True Vault Hunter Mode is such a PITA and respawns that cost $12k suck.

That sucks, guessing they aren't charging you but are they giving you anything else for free?

Not that I know of. I'll see what I can work out when I go to pick it up. I'm sure I could've gotten some stuff if I was more of a dick, but that's not my style. I was just happy they're making the situation right.

just found a fire weapon that talks.it seems to do a lot of damage but it makes you slow as heck and it's kind of annoying.

Started playing this last week.. Probably the best game I've played all year. I'm going to have to go back and finally finish 1 now.

I think the writing is hilarious

Yeah, there have been several moments that have been pretty golden throughout my playthrough so far.

A couple of nights ago I finished the part of the game where you're getting the shields up and running for Overlook and test firing the missile. I laughed pretty hard near the end of that mission.

The writing is pretty good, as far as one-liners, but the plot is just as unappealing as the first one.

new DLC released, the dialogue is hilarious but the campaign is very short. There are a lot of side quests, but without a level-cap increase, they are pointless if you're already at level 50.

New currency, "Torgue Tokens" much easier to obtain than Seraph crystals and can be spent in slot machines and in special Torgue vending machines that contain blue and higher weapons and grenade mods.

adds a host of new badass achievements

Among the level cap increase and various other changes coming to Borderlands 2 on April 2, 2013 is a new playthrough -- Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode -- built for challenging high-level play.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode differs quite a bit from Normal Mode and True Vault Hunter Mode -- here's a quick rundown of the major changes:

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Details

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is unlocked for a character once they have completed the main story missions in True Vault Hunter Mode and reached level 50.
Unlike other playthroughs, Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode can be replayed multiple times with players able to reset their overall mission progress at any time from the Main Menu.
No more tutorial missions -- characters in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode begin in Southern Shelf with the "Cleaning Up the Berg" mission.
While playing in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, enemies and bosses will scale according to the player's current level or, if playing with others, the highest-level player in that party.
Gameplay changes in UVHM:
Enemy health generally increased 4x.
Enemies now have a moderate amount of health regeneration.
Increased duration of slag damage multiplier effect.
Upped the damage that slagged enemies take from 2x to 3x.
Weapon swap speed increased to better facilitate slag use.
Enemies now more likely to drop ammo.
Loot Midgets are now "Legendary Loot Midgets" that can drop Legendary and other top-tier gear.

level cap increasing to 61, 8 short of the cap for Borderlands 1, but the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode should be fun. The additional 10 skill points pretty much guarantee that you'll be able to have two complete skill trees. Dual nuclear turrets could be epic.

Just got this in from the ol' gamefly account... first thought: this game is freakin' hard going solo. Multiplay is definitely a prerequisite.

If you're a low level guy, join a level 50's game and just stay hidden out of the way. Every kill they get will be like tons of points for you and you'll level up in no time at all.

that works, but not nearly as well as taking a low level player to Crawmerax (from the General Knoxx DLC)

not even Terramorphous farming yields similar results
