I do not need nor own any orthopedic shoes. If you break your big toes often enough, you're likely to want wide shoes.

I own 6 pair of footwear. The new Adidas running shoe, one black dress pair, one brown dress pair, one set of sandals, one pair of flip-flops, and 1 old pair of yard shoes.

The wife makes up for my frugality with an entire walk in closet of just shoes
