There is a line that shouldn't be crossed. I don't know where exactly that line is but you will know it when players start getting thrown at. It WILL absolutely happen. I suspect that Gilbert will be the one to cross that line :)
We have a 104mph arm in the bullpen and multiple 99-100 mph arms. They don't want to play that game.

We haven’t been here before. Let them have fun. It’s just a game.
Yep. Agree. A short amount of time to play college ball and it goes by fast. They need to enjoy every moment. This is what they have been working towards practically their entire life. Grab it while you can. And it sure does make it fun for us too 😍

I don't think I would encourage it and I don't think V does either. But when it is spontaneous it is fun and that is what this game should be. V said it. He looks like he is 40 and acts like he is 6. These guys have never been here and will never be here again. Every other area of their life will get real after this. Luc just bought a house and has plans for the future so I say enjoy it big boy. What makes this team special is they did not join a team that was bound for Omaha except maybe the freshmen and juco transfers. The rest joined a team that had not been anywhere and they did not expect to be anywhere close to this. The fact that they enjoy the game is why so many people are watching. I bet this weekend there were over 100 people who are not UT fans in anything other than baseball that watched games because of Kirby and this team. The #1 quote "These guys look like they are having so much fun." And multiply that by about 20 guys who did not grow up as UT fans and have converted their friends and family to UT fans, if only in baseball. I know for some of you diehards that is hard to believe but for some of us we are still just UT baseball fans but maybe it will grow on us. I love Heupel and if you let him stay long enough to succeed I might become a UT fan. (You don't want to know who I pull for in football.) Go Vols. Have fun young men.
Well said. Please tell me it’s not GA. Grown men should never bark at each other. 😀

EDIT: I forgot about our convo about FSU and UGA—makes sense. Just no barking please! 😀. I miss Bobby Bowden—he was a legend and a great man.

Former Vol and baseball traditionalist here. I had a tough time with the Vol swag and a bunch of their antics.

However, it's not the 70's anymore and the "act like you belong" mentality is a thing of the past. Yes, that was me as well and the current culture of baseball took a long time for me to accept. And honestly, I freaking hated that thought process when I played. Are you telling me a young college kid can't celebrate and be over the top when they are successful and having the time of their life?

The way Tony let's these kids have fun and do their thing is why I believe this is something here to stay and Tennessee can/are a new powerhouse of NCAA baseball.

Same thing for throwing at kids after touching home plate with 1 finger or looking and joking at a bat that lost a sticker.

Good luck recruiting kids now a days and being champions if you want them to act like when their grandad played. Get with the times or move out of the way and go play .500 baseball.

Just my $0.02
