What book or books do you want to see film adaptations from?

My wife has turned me onto some supernatural horror book series written by a Romance author.
Morrigans Cross series.
- so this Celctic Goddess charges 6 people from across time and dimensions to stop the Vampire Queen from destroying the worlds. On the 3rd book now and it felt like i just started listening to it yesterday.

Would really like to this turned into a streaming short series at the least.

The "Going Home" series from Chris Weatherman aka Angry American.

It's a Apocalyptic/survivalist series that's currently at 10 books in the series the first book follows a man trying to get back to his wife and daughters following an EMP wiping out modern technology.

Nelson DeMille: The Gold Coast
Great book!

Story about a WASP Long Island family and how their world changes when a Mafia Don moves in next door.
I always envisioned William Hurt playing the main character, John Sutter. I met DeMille at a book signing and told him that but he said that he hated Hurt and would never have it.

House of Leaves
Confederacy of Dunces

Yes!

I'm not sure I would like a Blood Meridian movie but at least it'd help me understand the book better. I love McCarthy but I didn't totally get that one.

I don't really want this anymore, because I'm a grownass man, but Matt Christopher movies would have been so much fun for 10 YO me. Seems like a missed opportunity for Disney or someone to make an anthology series, or something like that. The Great Brain books should be made, too.

Non-fiction, I want to see Exploding the Phone made. It'd take a creative writer to make it work as a movie with a plot, but it's so interesting and involves important people (like Steve Wozniak). American Kingpin should be a premium series.

The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress
Stranger In a Strange Land
(but needs to be comedy)

I think we’ve talked about DeMille books before.

My Vote would be for the Charm School to be made into a movie. I’ve always thought Ed Norton would be good as the smart ass, Jewish, Moscow CIA Station Chief . I always saw Rachael McAdams playing the love interest opposite of George Clooney based on how the characters were described in both appearance and age difference. Clearly the studio would have to open the check book for my pipe dream of a cast. One way or another someone should make the film based off of the success of The Americans on FX. I looked it up and someone has the movie rights and probably a script. I’m guessing it’s buried in someone’s desk drawer somewhere.

I’ll say “man of the family” by Ralph Moody. It’s kind of a wonder that little britches was never a movie.

The Charm School is an excellent book.
I like your idea and cast preferences.
Some of his other books that I would like to see on film, The Gatehouse, By the Rivers of Babylon, Lion of the Desert.

I’ll have to check those out. I’ve got a 1 year old now, so that makes getting through 5 pages a night an accomplishment. Haha

I sure a 1 year old can be a handful. My best to you both.
I have liked all if his books except one. Spencerville…I read it on a trip from Dayton, Ohio to Guam. Did not like it all all.
Again, I’m a big fan of his writing and there are even more that would look great on the big screen.
BTW-The Gatehouse is the sequel to The Gold Coast so maybe combine them into one movie

Thanks. He’s awesome, but he’s not the best sleeper in the world . I’ll make sure I’ll read those back to back .

I feel your pain.

When I was 11 all I wanted was for somebody to try and make a movie out of comic books!...

Yeah, I was the same. 95% of comic-based TV and movies were terrible until X-Men came out in 2000 or whenever that was.

I have always wanted to see Harry Potter turned into an animated series, like each chapter in every book is an episode.
I think HP would do great as a live action television show. With each season being one book it would allow for more character development other than Harry and would allow for other characters and storylines to spinoff into their own series. Hopefully Warner Bros. has something similar in the works at HBO Max.
