We have the three cupcakes, then from there it is a toss-up. I think we get one SEC win (Kentucky) and a another 4-8 year. Hard to be optimistic these days with the practice reports.

I know what you mean. Every time I start getting a little excited and think we might just be surprised and win 6 or 7 games, I smack myself.

No need in enjoying the small things in life that make such a huge impact on our lives. Better to stay in the safe suck zone where where its more comfortable.

Books are open to bet on regular seasons wins. My prediction as well.

AL-10.5 over
GA-10.5 under
AU-9 push
MSU-8 push
LSU-7.5 over
A&M-7 push
UF-7 over
SC-7 over
MO-6.5 under
KY-6 over (easy money)
OM-6 over
UT-5.5 over
AR-5.5 under
VU-5 under

Yours?

As someone who isn't a professional but pays some bills by gambling, I'm gonna buy it up to 6 and bet my car on the under. I can see max 4 wins on this schedule, (UTEP, ETSU, Charlotte and maybe you steal one from Kentucky or Vandy) can you tell me how you are seeing over here with a limited quarterback and loss good players to the draft?

This year is actually tougher because you usually have four non-conference games that you can win. We have one we might or might not win so that means we have to beat three SEC teams if we can't sweep the non conference. I think we can win three in the SEC and get to six or seven wins over that number looks very unlikely, but you never know how a team will respond and get better with a different coach. Will be fun anyway cause I am almost certain we are going to give effort and play much smarter than we did under Butch.

The past two seasons, we should have never lost to Vandy, SCAR, Mizzou or Flo(last year). Our talent was and still is better (Flo = push on talent).

I think we win the games we should this year which includes Vandy, Mizzou, SCAR. I think KY takes a small step back this season mainly due to loss of dynamic QB. WV, and Flo will be toss-ups. Other OOC games, we go 3-0 rather easily. So that puts us at 7 to 8 wins not withstanding a major upset like Aub, Geo or AL.

Another thing going for us is that we will be a much more Pruitt seasoned team for the back half of the schedule, so we will grow and play better ball and be the better team from SCAR through Vandy portion of schedule.

Also, we only leave the state 4 times and one of those games is a neutral site at Charlotte (fan edge TN 4>1).

I'm sticking with my 7.5 prediction plus a bowl win.

You and I are close in our predictions. It’s 8 wins before the bowl for me.

I can't imagine taking the "under" on 5.5 wins. Anything that could have possibly gone wrong went wrong last year. Actually, some things went wrong that were impossible to go wrong. Yet, we still eeked out 4 wins. I just have to believe we'll do better than last year on the simple mindset that last year we hit the floor and then found a trap door that no one even knew existed. I think the true floor is 5 wins, so if you bet the "under", you're banking on a "floor" season. I don't think we'll go significantly higher than 5.5 wins, but surely we can get to 6... right?!

First year HC, teaching players from scratch, most difficult conference in football, depleted talent, and a new system/style.

5 wins is being generous this season if CJP is just and average to good coach.

I'm still under 5.5 after the scrimmage. I don't think any info about Chryst can move the needle that much before the season starts, after which the book will be closed, right?

I would wait as late as I could to place that bet. If all the injured guys get back full speed by opening day (Smith, Kirkland, Hall, etc.) this will be an entirely different team than it was by the end of last year just because they are healthy. Most on here making their predictions based on new staff's coaching abilities; Its always more about the players you have. The team fielded for the spring game would struggle to win 4. We get all the injured guys back full speed - this is an 8 win team.
