Well, even though it's already been discussed above, I appreciate your input and you kind assessment of my statement. Feel better?
Also forgot Min Kao the Garmin co-founder whose net worth is $3-4 billion. Still trying to find ONE who makes the Haslams look like welfare recipients.

I wouldn't go that far (funny comparison though) but we do have several "difference-maker" donors. I do know that one is very skeptical of laying out big money (especially with the climate we are in now-and potentially what is about to happen to our country) until things stabilize in our nation. And with the low reserve and the moneys lost already, its going to be a hard sale for any wealthy donor (after all that's why most are wealthy donors by knowing when and how to "spend" their money). But it sure helps Volnation by we fans fantasizing how to "spend their money" :D:D.
You'll have to excuse the hyperbole...it was said at least partially in jest, but it sounds like you got that.

Yeah...you don't have a sense of humor do you? Ok Mr. Literal...it was said for effect.

I'd bet you're a hoot at parties.

no prob, his name is charlie ergen. definitely our most wealthy booster and it’s not close.

Wouldn't hold my breath for him to write a buyout check.

"Ergen is well known for his frugality. His office is furnished with second-hand couches and he does not fly first class. Ergen used to sign all the checks his company issued but currently signs only checks for $100,000 or more. Ergen's supporters call his negotiating style patient and prudent."

Min Kao was born in Taiwan where he also received his bachelor's degree. His Master's and Doctorate are from UT but I'm guessing he may not be a big football fan with that background.

Although he is an Alum, Jimmy Sexton has done UT no favors in the last 13 years! From negotiating deals like this for CBJ and CJP to using Tenn coaching searches as leverage to get raises for other clients by shopping them in front of TN and pulling them back I. For the whole nation to see.

It isn't Sexton's job to do favors for UT.

It is on the people deciding on these hires and negotiating these contracts where they generally end up bidding against themselves to do a better job in the future.

Not that I have any faith whatsoever that the brain trust in Knoxville is capable of that at this point.

I heard Mike Gundy was interested in the job again however.

Which is exactly why I said we should hire him as the AD. Let's get back to making some money in the AD.

The Haslam family still donates massively to UT. More than anyone else most likely. No family has done more financially for UT.

No question. The Haslam family has been and continues to be very generous to the university. I was speaking speculating about willingness to write another check for a football coach.

We can sit here and count other peoples money as long as we want, but no one is going to give another dime to the school that proves they don't even know where the bottom is to this endless pit. Under multiple leaders, going back almost 20 years, we have proven that we don't know how to spend money. We were what, $200,000,000 in the red when Dooley took over? We've been paying other people to sit on the couch ever since. Why would anyone donate to this university? Let alone INVEST a significant amount of their fortune into the program with no say?

Imagine a family member that has been LOST for nearly two decades showing up at Thanksgiving or Christmas and telling the family "All I need is another $100,000 from everyone and I promise I'll get it together. Just give it to me and you'll see." When everyone knows better.

Just to clarify I am only answering a previous post not volunteering others money.....peace

It's always easier to spend someone else's money. I do wonder what we could do if every Tennessee fan donated $100-$1000 to some sort of fan-driven trust. I wonder if we could get to 30 mil.
I’m in, tired of the $hit show that this has been for over a decade.

Dish Network Field at Neyland Stadium does have a nice ring to it.
If I were him, I would make UT Athletics pay him for the use of his name.

I wish the University athletic department could hire Jimmy Sexton to represent US. It would feel good to get our money's worth from at least one deal he is involved in.
I would pay double his commission for a winner.
Every Bo Derek contract gets Whoopi Goldberg results.

Boosters likely aren’t on board this time. If I had that type of money and had been helping with buyout after buyout the last 11 years I wouldn’t be quick to give anything to a school that simply can’t figure it out. Strap in and ride out the rest of Pruitt’s contract.

Yeah I get it, I'm including myself in the "we." Every 2-4 years since I've been on this site, the same boosters are brought up in cycles every time it's time to pay someone off. So that general post is addressing the VN forum having this same conversation 1-2 years before every search.
