Butch had offset language and chose to not search for a job and stay an intern. We have donors who make the Haslam's look welfare recipients. Some you'd know, and some you wouldn't. Doesn't matter...if they want to make a change they'll have the money.
Maybe some of the most vocal VN folks could meet with Pruitt and spew their vitriol. Surely he would punch of them and be fired with cause. Of course, they would be pissed after Hugh Fridge, or some other unknown, was hired instead of Hugh Freeze.Butch had offset language and chose to not search for a job and stay an intern.
Pruitt has zero offset language so we are paying him 12 million if we kick the tires regardless.
Not trying to argue. However, it is crazy this "no offset" language is creeping up in contracts now.
It is obvious to me that most Vol fans have never been in a position trying to solicit funds from the wealthy. There is a little more to it than a telephone call saying Hey Bitch... Send us 25 million that we can piss away on another bad coach.
Probably coaches who see what is going on at Arkansas. Not that I blame Arkansas, quite the opposite.Butch had offset language and chose to not search for a job and stay an intern.

I'm not sure. I think our fans could build a powerful movement if we thought we could make something happen. We routinely fill the stadium with 100,000 fans. If everyone donated $1 that's $100k. If we really thought we could hire a difference-maker, I bet between all of our fans we could do better than you think.Lol, you'd be lucky to get $10,000. You've got some wild daydreams going on.
Well, duh... you have to call them "buddy" or "big shot"It is obvious to me that most Vol fans have never been in a position trying to solicit funds from the wealthy. i’m well aware of how trying to get investments goes. you have to have a plan of your own that they like, or bend the knee to their plan. i think we typically have no plan and just chase whoever the booster wants us to and it either is a terrible option or they say no.. then we’re left at the altar looking stupid.

I have no issue with a no offset clause for a proven commodity, but for a first time HC like Pruitt? Crazy. That was just bad negotiation on our part due for desperation to end that crazy coaching search.
Whatever you say, not sure you understand how many $100 donations make up $30 million.I'm not sure. I think our fans could build a powerful movement if we thought we could make something happen. lol "bitch", you're funny
About the dumbest quote I have ever seen on a message board. The Haslams are probably worth around $10 billion. Only donor/alum we have who exceeds that is Charlie Ergen the Dish guy and he has been more inclined to donate to academics that athletics. We have donors who make the Haslam's look welfare recipients. Well, even though it's already been discussed above, I appreciate your input and you kind assessment of my statement. Feel better?About the dumbest quote I have ever seen on a message board. they have the money from boosters if they choose to make a move... they have to choose to make a move though which I don't think they are there.... yet
i expect Pruitt and company to be back next season but he will be on the major hot seat and may not make it to the end of next season
things could change however...but it would surprise me
I wouldn't go that far (funny comparison though) but we do have several "difference-maker" donors. I do know that one is very skeptical of laying out big money (especially with the climate we are in now-and potentially what is about to happen to our country) until things stabilize in our nation. And with the low reserve and the moneys lost already, its going to be a hard sale for any wealthy donor (after all that's why most are wealthy donors by knowing when and how to "spend" their money). But it sure helps Volnation by we fans fantasizing how to "spend their money"We have donors who make the Haslam's look welfare recipients. Some you'd know, and some you wouldn't.
