So what if he is? He's wearing orange now. His goal is to play in the NFL, are you dumb enough to believe he's willing to tank his own stock to stick it to UT? Ridiculous

Edit. Quoted the wrong post. Can't be bothered to fix it. Too much celebration juice
I may be kinda dumb but I’m not dumb enough to quote the wrong post.

Does anybody remember Jennings getting kicked off the team in 2014?

These same type of fans were calling him a “bad apple”.
“Mental case”

One of the few things Pruitt did right was give him a chance…
- Jennings went on to torch Florida!
- Catch a Hail Mary to beat UGA! Guys that 2016 game was the last time we beat UGA. Think about that. It’s 2025.
- a respected and clutch NFL WIDE RECEIVER.

All because coach gave him a chance.

Heupel has already decided on this kid. For better or worse but you NEGATIVE, constantly bashing types that honestly just want to see the kid fail make it hard for other Tennessee fans to enjoy the good times like TODAY.
I get your point but didn't Jennings do all of that before Pruitt

I’ve been out of the loop for a while due to a plethora of reasons. That said, can someone point me in the direction of a thread discussing/explaining the drama surrounding Boo in the offseason?

From a previous comment, it sounds like his mom was involved. That’s not at all surprising - she’s been causing issues since his early high school days and is a big reason he went to 3 different high schools.

He needs to go. He’s single handedly given up 2 4th down conversions. If his family is going to keep up with the distractions and this is the type of on field play we’re doing to get there’s no reason to keep him around
Report on the post game show was he wasn’t very interactive when he wasn’t playing. Stayed to himself & didn’t support his teammates.

That’s not the same as missing practices and workouts in the off-season. Jennings may have butted heads with people and talked back to coaches or whatever, but I don’t think he was phoning it in during practice like Boo has. He just doesn’t seem like he’s built that way

No, I don’t expect him to be 1st team all SEC yet although the hype would suggest that. I expect him to act like the paid professional that he is now and not some spoiled prima donna. Attend team meetings and workouts and don’t hold out for more money when you really haven’t done anything yet. Don’t just talk it, walk it.

I went back and rewatched the game. I didn't see Boo on Offense. Did I miss it? If so, where did he play?

I am from the same part of the state as Boo. I watched his high school career with great interest. He does seem to have off-field issues, most of which seem to be caused by Momma Boo and her schenanigans. I believe he changed high schools 3 times. I wish him the best. He has great natural ability. I pray he doesn't get distracted from reaching his full potential. GO VOLS

Doubt he will be with us next year, it is what it is. The family drama is well documented and we saw it on display this off season.

That being said, we’ve got him on the team through the season. Heupel believes he can add value (and there’s no doubt he has talent) and his teammates allowed him back on the team for the same reasons. As long as he’s not being a distraction and he’s putting in effort to help the team and get better, that’s all we can ask for. The mama drama isn’t something he can entirely control as far as I’m aware and from what I’ve seen.

If he had done all the right things in the off-season it would be chalked up as “it happens”. When someone that missed off season workouts is also getting lost in coverage and can’t take down a QB both on 4th down it’s not entirely off base to say the two are likely connected. I think the issues they’ve had with him are far worse than people realize considering the fact they’re not even letting him return punts. He’s just so talented and with being an East Tennessee kid they’re trying to give him every opportunity possible. At some point though the horse has to willingly drink the water he’s being led to
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make a MULE drink.
