Stop lying. That’s complete BS. Heupel’s done a fine job. Is he worth $9 mil? Help no? But no one is.There is a contingent on VN, that thinks it would br a great idea to turn over head coaching duties to their second cousin. You know, he that took the Unicoi County peewee team to the championship game 7 years in a row. He’ll coach da Vols for a $100K per year.
John actually had a better season. He did a lot of running after pass protection broke. He still averaged 5.1 YPC. He also had several hundred yards passing, played safety, was the punter and placekicker. Most folks see his loss as the greatest injustice in Heisman history. It was much worse than Manning’s. There were games where Majors never came out. He did all that in only 11 games.I agree with Johnny. The award should have gone to Jim Brown in 1956.
As I said, you made it about you. You’re delusional. You think over paid gym teachers are somehow superior beings. Enjoy that life:
Yep. It was that one loss.. Just like it was that one loss for Peyton against Florida and those two losses for Hendon. I understand the voters from 1956 are possibly dead, but the standards for the Heistman change without notice.Sometimes Google's AI response hits the nail on the head:
"Johnny Majors finished second to Paul Hornung in the 1956 Heisman Trophy race. Hornung, a quarterback/halfback for Notre Dame, won the award despite his team having a losing record. Majors, a star tailback for Tennessee, was the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and a unanimous All-American, leading the Volunteers to a 10-1 record and a #2 national ranking. The close finish, with Hornung winning by only 72 points, is still debated by some, with many arguing Majors was unjustly overlooked. "
I am part of the "some".
The old saying goes that every man thinks he can grill a steak, run a church and coach football. Ego is the rocket fuel of this website lol. There is a contingent on VN, that thinks it would br a great idea to turn over head coaching duties to their second cousin. The main problem with some of us old timers is we remember being the top dog in this conference, then we had went threw the Haslem control period thinking they could get anyone to win here on the cheap. Damn that was painful. We just want a good coach that can recruit talent to their system and make it work. I believe we have that in CJH and need to keep him happy.Stop lying. That’s complete BS. Stop.Have we met? That was a heckuva peewee team run. Saban's got nothing on me. I got 6 rings. I would've gotten 7 but the gumball machine ran out.
And yes, some folks think money makes the job unbelievably more easy than it is. I'd argue Heupel may be underpaid if we worked it out hourly.
Solid hyperbole that I thought was obvious.Stop.
If he worked 20 hours a day, 365 days a year, it comes out to $1,232.88 an hour.
You never know on VNSolid hyperbole that I thought was obvious.
My point was Heupel earns his money and the guy I kept replying to keeps insisting that if "he got paid like that....." he would make sure incidents like that were sniffed out in advance as though Heupel's salary makes a difference concerning personnel issues.
On Day 2, Boo has been forced by the team leadership council to endure the humiliation ritual of wearing a sports bra all day in practice. He’s earning his spot back on the team brick-by-brick.First installment in the no free pass return to action. Not had time to satisfy many hurdles that will be required. An attitude check for sure.
If he's going to be part of the team. I get doing the penitence thing but he needs to be working with the team during team practices. Maybe he'll be out there SundayOn Day 2, Boo has been forced by the team leadership council to endure the humiliation ritual of wearing a sports bra all day in practice. I agree. Maybe that’s the idea behind the sports bra. If anyone complains that he’s balling with the boys in helmet and full pads too early, saying he should be punished longer, Heupel can squash that easily by saying, “We already took the punishment to the most extreme level. Boo had to wear a SPORTS BRA over his jersey all day, and there’s no way to punish a man any more harshly than that!”If he's going to be part of the team. Really? Interesting. Riveting abalysis. I’m sure if we had a Time Machine, and we could all go back in time 30 years, we’d have made some different choices. Hell, if I could go back I’d have never wasted a second trying to reason with you homers. Y’all seem to have an interesting and common pattern of moving the discussion from the team and individual to the person you want to argue with. Since you don’t know jack squat about me and I could care even less about you, I suggest you move along. Judging by the post count for some of you, y’all spend all of your time here pontificating. I hope that works out for ya, but time to move along. As I said, you made it about you.
Let's assume you're correct, you're choosing to waste your time and potential easy money and should go into coaching. Put your feelings about your coaching ability where your mouth is and look for a coaching job.... any coaching job because it's so easy you'll rise from high school to college to D1 in no time because you know it's so easy.
Go ahead. Coach football at any level and get back to us.
Again, YOU brought to you by insisting that "give me $9M and I'd find a way" as though YOU would get it done. I ask how and you say "I'd do a study and analysis" to decide what to do.Really?
