Boo Carter (Status, Rumors, Updates)

Being biased toward your team is one thing hing. This idea, that our media is supposed to intentionally suppress news is another.
People don't seem to realize that a healthy rumor mill is the sign of a team being followed closely and having a large and passionate fan base.

When is the last time someone heard any rumor repeated about the mighty Carson-Newman Eagles?

The bigger story, too me, is this is twice this year Heupel has been caught off guard by a key player. I’m sorry, but coming off the Nico thing, this is unacceptable.
This is such a stupid comment. That’s like saying you should have known that car was going to run the stop light and hit you.

Actually, yes. Amazingly made it though those formative years without surprises. Why? Myself and the wife were EXTREMELY proactive in our parenting. I watched parents kid surprised with all kinds of stuff and they all shared one thing in common.
Have you raised 80+ of them at one time? Didn't think so......

He is, he acknowledged the presence of the ISSUES, he laid out the findings of the staff and team leadership, he shut off further rumor mongering by locking in as the only voice on the matter and therefore will be THE guy announcing Boo’s successful compliance status OR NOT.

I have no idea where this goes, but choose to feel confident TEAM-MEMBERS will determine if Boo gets on and stays on the field by sharing if he meets the established milestones OR NOT. Attitude not 40 times wiil be key. Hard to fake acknowledgment and contrition and hopefully gratitude for the shot. Arrogance won’t get it done.

As a fan, I hope this ends more like the Juan Jennings saga, and less like the Jansen Jackson and other departure sagas. But it will be a rational and fair composite decision based on the whole truth. Something not available to most of those who benefit from stirring the pot. They are free to speculate in ignorance but identify their objectives if they do and ALL others are free to judge the methodology and impact of their actions too. They too can gain the status of the program being better off without them.
Well put. I believe most (90%) feel this way.

Can we start a Boo Carter thread that is JUST about Boo Carter and doesn't have a bunch of grown men arguing about stuff that has nothing to do with the actual subject of the original post???
I think this one will settle into that category. As long as “he that shall not be named” keeps a low profile on the subject. Adjusting the title will help.

I think he was absolutely caught off guard, which begs another question. Why? Was it a genuine unavoidable surprise, or is he out of touch in certain areas? I think it’s a fair question. When have you ever heard of a starting QB leaving after Spring ball?

Then the Boo thing?
😂 he wasn’t caught off guard by the Nico situation. At a certain point you have to let the dominos fall where they may. I do think Heupel was hopeful Nico would mature and step away from some of the influences around him but it didn’t happen.

Coaches have bs to deal with all the time. Happened with Saban, happens with Kirby now. It’s just more prevalent now due to the money involved.

When people talk about Heisman screw jobs over the last few decades, they always mention Manning, Faulk, or Grossman. Honestly, I think Suh was probably the biggest one of them all. He had the most dominant season a defensive tackle could possibly have. His stat line compared to the defensive lines of the three teams that finished the season ranked in the top three is mind blowing.

Well, his team sucked and that’s the excuse the Heistman publicists always used to screw over the TN contenders..

Let’s stop treating these guys like they’re something they’re not. They have a huge support staff and every resource available to keep these young men on track. Let’s not act like the Boo situation just happened out of thin air.
What they don't have is someone following them 24/7. If the guy just leaves Knoxville and stops picking up his phone, what's your solution?

He wasn’t? A different school literally called UT and told them the QB was shopping around. This, after the family had ALREADY flirted with Miami and the head coach again found out, when another coach put him in the loop. This isn’t the 3rd string punter. Let’s not act like Nico and Boo were just some players you could somewhat ignore.

When do you think the coaches became aware that Boo was not participating?
