This "help the program" or "hurt the program" begs the question of how exactly does our knowing good or bad things help or hurt?

These are all the positions I predicted he had a future. I didn’t think he would try to play all of them at once though.

Set the drama down while we can. If Heupel handles this situation because Boo decides to act like the ultimate teammate. Then watch out!

I just hope Boo and Joey Aguilar can form a bond. Imagine if you put just a little of Joeys grateful for every opportunity mentality into the body of 5’11” 200 lbs 4.4 speed Boo Carter?

He’s going to be a Heisman contender if that happens.

He is, he acknowledged the presence of the ISSUES, he laid out the findings of the staff and team leadership, he shut off further rumor mongering by locking in as the only voice on the matter and therefore will be THE guy announcing Boo’s successful compliance status OR NOT.

I have no idea where this goes, but choose to feel confident TEAM-MEMBERS will determine if Boo gets on and stays on the field by sharing if he meets the established milestones OR NOT. Attitude not 40 times wiil be key. Hard to fake acknowledgment and contrition and hopefully gratitude for the shot. Arrogance won’t get it done.

As a fan, I hope this ends more like the Juan Jennings saga, and less like the Jansen Jackson and other departure sagas. But it will be a rational and fair composite decision based on the whole truth. Something not available to most of those who benefit from stirring the pot. They are free to speculate in ignorance but identify their objectives if they do and ALL others are free to judge the methodology and impact of their actions too. They too can gain the status of the program being better off without them.

This is how it used to be, I get that, but not possible in today's world. Too many journalist, podcast, etc people out there snooping around looking for an inside scoop. Some even offer $ for info. Hard to keep anything behind closed doors today.

Yes, a very long time ago, and no one has pointed to actual damage to the program from this or other rumors.

Just point to the actual damage to our program from this rumor getting out. I'd appreciate an answer that isn't "Well, I don't like it....."

Not sure I have the right name, but knowing the players council has 20 players on it along with Heupels response to this makes me feel optimistic that it will all work out in the end. Carter might set himself straight and be the player he can be. But if not, I'm feeling better that the council and Heupel won't hesitate to send this kid packing if the need arises. My main concern was what damage a bad apple might do in the locker room. With a group of 20, I think they can contain his influence if it goes that way.

People don't seem to realize that a healthy rumor mill is the sign of a team being followed closely and having a large and passionate fan base.

When is the last time someone heard any rumor repeated about the mighty Carson-Newman Eagles?
